"Madagascar" is already getting a sequel and "Shrek 3" and a "Puss in Boots" movie is on the way. But why didn't Dreamworks give "Shark Tale" a sequel. it grossed 160 million dollars at the box office and they should make "Shark Tale 2"

I think Dreamworks is trying to ignore it because the movie made fun of Rafastafarians, Italians and An African American Fish who isn't black.

The movie grossed enough money at the box office and should get a sequel. The reason why "Antz" didn't get a sequel was because it grossed 90 milllion dollars and didn't gross 100 million.

"Shark Tale" should get a sequel no matter what the critic's said about it. The Audiences like it for being funny.

Give "Shark Tale" a chance

The Shrek and Madagascar sequels are bad enough. At least spare us a Shark Tale sequel.

It sucked. That's why.

Shark Tale was the worst excuse for an animated film I've ever seen. These werent animated characters. These were just the actors faces (sans noses) on a fish's body. The animators were just tranferring the actors expressions and body language to the assorted fish, sharks and whatnot, and NOT creating unique animated characters. That's the worst kind of thing to do with an animated film. Oh look at that: it's Will Smith as a fish!!! How clever!!

Which audiences? Most people seemed to dislike it. There was a poll with it against Finding Nemo a few weeks ago and last I looked no one had voted for Shark Tale.
You seem to be developing a reputation for being out of touch with the world and championing things there isn't a market for.

I think Dreamworks is going a little out of hand...

From what I remember, people found Shark Tale funny because it was every single movie sterotype grouped together with a hefy helping of sitcom situations.

However I hated Shark Tale, I also hated Managasgar and Robots...

I do like Shrek though

"Madagascar" is already getting a sequel
I actually thought Madagascar was the best CGI movie Dreamworks has put out, but judging by the Penguins short before Wallace and Gromit, I think they should leave it alone

"Shrek 3" and a "Puss in Boots" movie is on the way.
PLEASE. NO. Shrek was a good movie, but they completely destroyed it with that awful sequel. Now they're just running it into the ground

But why didn't Dreamworks give "Shark Tale" a sequel.
Everything doesn't need a sequel. In fact, judging by most of what Disney does, animated movies are usually better without sequels.

it grossed 160 million dollars at the box office and they should make "Shark Tale 2"

Making Money doesn't make a movie good.

I think Dreamworks is trying to ignore it because the movie made fun of Rafastafarians, Italians and An African American Fish who isn't black.

I doubt it. But if you look at what you're saying then it's just another Mob comedy. Only animated so they get the kiddies in.

The movie grossed enough money at the box office and should get a sequel. The reason why "Antz" didn't get a sequel was because it grossed 90 milllion dollars and didn't gross 100 million.

That's because this whole "wacky" CGI craze hadn't hit yet. And Antz was a good movie, just weak when compared to "A Bug's Life"

"Shark Tale" should get a sequel no matter what the critic's said about it.
Critics don't affect a sequel. I mean, come on, Deuce Bigalow had a sequel!

The Audiences like it for being funny.

Maybe the stupid audiences like the general public who think Big Name actors and Pop Culture references make a movie good.

Give "Shark Tale" a chance
I did. A chance that cost me $7. And I want my $7 back.

A Shark Tales sequel? Pass. After seeing Shark Tales and Robots, I gave up pretty much all hope on Dreamworks animation films.

I'm just absolutely SICK of CGI movies in which the screenwriters are so clueless that at the end of the movies the characters are like, "Hey everyone, lets boogie!" and everyone dances to some cover to a song thats just gonna date the film in years to come. Both Shreks, Shark Tale and Robots did this, and it's LAME!!

What?

Anyway, I've really lost faith in Dreamworks ever since they stopped using those... you know, those things in their movies... the- comedies used to have them all the time... hold on.

...

Oh, yeah. Jokes. That's it.

TOEI aren't the original authors of the Puss in Boots story. If the estate of the author has no qualms about it, then this movie will go through.

Shark Tale looked so bad, why on earth would they want to make a sequel

I'm eagerly waiting for the Puss and Boots movie, and the Shrek sequels too (2 was good, hopefully they will continue this tred.).

Shark Tale sucked. It doesn't deserve a sequel. Sequels aren't always necessary.

Never really liked Shark Tale. It had so much going for it, but it just seemed plain. The jokes were all in the racial references.

And that's never a good thing.

...Give "Shark Tale" a chance
They should make ST2?
Give Shark Tale a chance?
HAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
No.
Shrek 2 was beating a dead horse as it is, let alone a Shrek 3 or Madagascar 2 (Why is THAT happening anyway?). However, a Shark Tale 2 COULD make lots of money despite it being terrible.
Just saying.

It wasn't a bad movie, it was ok, saw it on showtime a few weeks ago and entertained me more than i thought, of course i would never buy it on dvd or even have payed to watch it but i didn't feel i wasted my time watching it.

It was entertaining but i don't think a sequel would be a great idea..

I remember Dreamworks saying that they were going to make a sequel to Shark Tale before the first came out, just in case it was a hit.
They never menitoned it since then.

As for Shrek, I like the second one, and I can't wait to see the third.

The reason thy're making a Madagascar 2, is because it was a hit overseas, especially in Japan. Still, the plot ot the first one was weak, but maybe they'll do better next time.

I happened to see Shark Tale some time ago on HBO. Granted it wasn't a great movie, nor was it up to Finding Nemo's standards, but I didn't find it completely awful or unwatchable either. However I didn't have any expectations when I went in watching the movie and overall I thought the movie was okay.

Yeah, they were just actors' faces and expressions on a fish/shark body. However I don't think the creators were aiming to create unique characters or unique storyline (considering how cliched it is).

I don't think a sequel is neccessary, unless they just want to squeeze in on some extra cash and milk the first one for all it's worth. Many movies made don't need a sequel, and Shark Tale is one of those movies.
