1. Ryoko (Tenchi-verse) - Former space priate, superpowers, and just has a great personality.

2. Motoko (GITS:SAC) - I have yet to see the movie or manga yet, but the show version of Motoko is somewhat likeable. She's a cyborg, and yet she tries to retain her humanity, even though at times she seems cold.

3. Sailor Jupiter (Sailor Moon) - Strong, a good figther, and had to live on heer own, Jupiter's [personaility was still nice, but you just don't want her to get angry.

4. Aisha ClanClan (Outlaw Star) - Superstrong, can transform into a Tiger-analog, and overly aggroant. But agian, her personality and life is just so funny, it's likeable. Plus I have a soft spot for Kzin-wantabes.

Even though I'm not a huge fan of the show, I like Kirie's (Girls Bravo) spunk, how she doesn't take any crap from anyone.

Too bad half of it is unleashed (and always unfairly) on Yukinari...

Anyway... Emma Sheen (Zeta Gundam) and Marvel Frozen (Aura Battler Dunbine.) Unfortunately, I'm still not really satisfied with either character... for once I want to see a tough female mech pilot who doesn't need to get bailed out by the male lead in every episode.

Maybe I'll be able to add Miriya (Macross, Macross 7) to the list once I've watched them. Who knows.

A lot of good choices, but my favorite is Grandis Grandbar from Nadia of the Mysterious Sea. After getting dumped by her no-good husband, she landed on her feet and started her own business of sorts. She tough, smart as a whip, and oh so sexy.

Sir Integra Wingates Hellsing.

She is the heir and leader of the prestigious ghoul slaying Hellsing organization, she commands the most powerful vampire in (concievable) existence (with a pseudo-sexual undertone to their "relationship"), and she don't take no guff from nobody. Not to mention sports the most rockin' suit and smokes elegant cigarellos for good measure. Integra is a prime example of what I like about strong female characters: determined, intelligent, driven, and not defined by her sexuality/gender (hell, most people don't tend to realize that she is female).

Also honorable mention goes to Seras Victoria. Anyone who reads the manga (up to vol.7) should understand what I'm talking about when I say she is indeed a very strong and awesome character. Really comes into her own with the help of her commander Pip Bernadotte.
