So, what are everyones favorite kinds of movies?
Personally, I like the paranormal "would-be-horror" flicks, with that hint of fine comedy, & some fine action. ahem..."Evil Dead triology"(Well..Evil Dead 2 & Army...the first one was strict horror..but still..I couldn't take it seriously? Could you? Haha!)

Personally, I go for a great Science Fiction flick... A.I. & Final Fantasy really sparked my interest this past summer... =)

i tend to go for horror movies, cheesey and ligit alike. the cheesey ones for a good laugh, and the ligit ones for an actual movie to watch

Comedy, and the occasional well-done Sci-fi movie.

Comedy, drama (go ahead and laugh! But I warn you, this 'aint comedy! :p )......I guess Sci-fi, if you count Star Wars. And Star Trek. Forget 'I guess', I love sci-fi!
But I'd say my above-all favorite would have to be suspense. Not scary suspense, you see.....that scares me. I just mean the "WHAT?! YOU'RE CHANGING SCENES *NOW*?!" kinda movie.
Fantasy? Nuh-uh. Harry Potter didn't even do anything to me. Lord of the Rings, though.....I'm thinking of seeing that....

As far as "suspense" goes, I'd say the Quentin Terentino(I can't spell famous peoples names..sorry) films are quite good at that. Especially Pulp Fiction, where everything is out of order. I LOVE his movies! But I like Gangster films in general. They're good.
I was thinking about it, & I'd say I prefer movies that WOULD BE SERIOUS, but are actually comedies. Like, Resevoir Dogs is a serious movie, but ultimately, I get a good laugh from it. Ghostbusters was originally going to be a serious movie, but then they changed it to comedy. The Mummy...that movie was hallarious! BeetleJuice, taking a serious subject(Death, ghosts), and twisting it into the greatest comedy of all time! Haha! And, my Evil Dead movies..which are pretty hard core horror(blood by the gallons), but are ultimately hallarious!
anyway..I talk to much :p

Comedy, and the occasional horror and drama. Just make sure the last two aren't cheesy, and have at least as much plot as action, and that's what I like in a nutshell.

I like comedy the best, and I like horror. I don't like the "gross you out" horrors, just the "psyche you out" horrors.

Fantasy and comedy. I guess action as well, as long as it's interesting and not just "bang-bang-shoot-em-up" and "Let's blow something up!". Crude humor movies are one's I avoid. I don't really like horror since I'm the world's biggest fraidy-cat ;)

I'll watch just about anything that isn't all raunchy, preferable fantasy, drama, and comedy.

I mostly like Action, Drama and Sci-Fi. I tend to like movies with a lot of emotional weight. I don't like most fluffy movies, unless they are very artful like Street Fighter:TAM, Singin' In the Rain or a Jackie Chan movie. :D There are very few comedies I find really funny.

I like cheesy black and white monster movies, surrealistic art films, dark & twisted humor and anything that does NOT take itself seriously...I can watch any movie and find something to like, but anything that tries to be dramatic, emotional and epic is just so dismal and dreary to me that I simply have to pop in "Monkeybone" or "The Blob" shortly afterwards to keep from going insane. In other words I seem to be the exact opposite of franklin :P
And yes,I did feel this way about lord of the rings.I thought it was a good movie, but it was just too uptight to come anywhere close to being one of my favorites. The oddness of Gollum is probably what kept me from being outright indifferent to the whole thing.
Heres my current top ten:
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Who Framed Roger Rabbit
Little Shop Of Horrors (remake)
Joe`s Apartment
The City Of Lost Children
Labyrinth
Fiend Without a Face
The Brave Little Toaster (no,really)
Meet The Applegates
Mars Attacks

I like comedys. What I look for in a movie: lots of stuff gets destroyed, fire, expolsion and a bad guy who is such a jerk, you love it when he/she gets it.

I guess I'd say movies with an epic quality to it. It could be something like LOTR or The Godfather. I just like movies on a grand scale with a lot of scope and depth. Those are my absolute favorites.
I also love good vs evil movies, which kind of overlaps with what I've said above.
