Not saying that the game is bad or anything, but many of the reviews find this game to be incredibly short. If you even aquire everything in the game you could still master it in 10 hours or less. Niow not that I hate short games, I just have t a problem with the game costing 60 and you can beating within the first day.

Kameo is a first-party title, so it's "only" $49.99.

We got it in at work last week, so I put it in the 360 demo, and yes, beat it in two lunch breaks.

Thank god I never intended to buy it.

Really? So after all this time the game was still a let down.

counting they've been working on it since before gamecube launched its kind of dissapointing. But i'm also certain they got rid of all "fetch quests" after all the slack they've been getting. Stil 10 hours isn't that "short" of a game.
is itfun? it looks like it could be a lot of fun or a dissapointment.

This reminds me of when Nintendo was hyping Star Fox Adventures as being 80 hours long. Hahahaha.

Spooch, would you say the game itself is fun, though?

Eh, at times it was. The switching of powers to overcome different obstacles was fun for a bit (reminded me of Norse by Norsewest in spirit, a favorite of mine) but it just got really repetitive after a bit, and the lack of aquiring new transformations (with the exception of a few) just seemed to make the gameplay get stale faster (too little too late).

It's really just mediocre in retrospect (though had a few fun moments). I found little reason to keep playing after a while, other than the graphics being kinda "purdy". The story wasn't exactly riveting either, but that's beside the point.

A game by Rare sucks? That's impossible!!

Rare has made great games, i don't know why lately they get so much slack. I've liked almost all of rares games, they are fun, and have something special in them. Conker was just mainly a "remake" but it was a good game when it came out, Grabbed by the ghouls did suck but it had some good elements, they just didn't plan out well at all. but they released great GBA games during that era, BK:GR, DKC1-3, BP, SW etc. Their SNES games are great and so are many of their arcade classics.

A game by Rare sucks? That's impossible!!No one really seems to be saying this one sucks, as far as I can tell. Most reviews are going out of their way to point out that this isn't a DK64-collect-a-thon.

A game by Rare sucks? That's impossible!!It doesn't suck, gameplay is excelent and levels are incredibly well done

It's more or less like Beyond Good and Evil, it leaves you feeling like there shoulda been more to the game.

Although I'm disappointed that yet again Rare has missed a chance to make another real "epic" game along the Banjo-Kazooie/DK64 line, I must say I do like the occasional 10-hour game as they make for terrific beat-in-one-period rentals.

It looks pretty fun at least, it's a shame it's short though. I'd like to give it a try when I can. Who knows, maybe I'll buy it when I buy my Xbox 360 (hint to all, I'm not getting 360 until it drops a butt-load in price, which will be years from now and by then Kameo will probably be in the bargain bin.)

Not really much of a surprise that it's disappointing in one way or another. It's just sad, the game's gone through three systems and it's still a mediocre platformer. Just goes to show you, Nintendo ditching Rare wasn't a mistake, it was a more brilliant move than anybody realized.

It's especially disappointing considering all the time spent on the game as well as Perfect Dark Zero. You have to wonder what's up with Rare when they take forever to make games that could take any other company half or 1/4th that time.

I mean I wouldn't mind a Banjo Kazooie using what Kameo had. Just as long as they keep the DK64 levels of collecting out, I didn't mind collecting 100 notes in each stage like in the original Banjo, but DK was way over kill.

However I wouldn't mind a game along the lines of Diddy Kong Racing(but it would have to use a different sets of characters), The multiple vehciles types allowed in the same course was somthing I hoped the Mario Kart series would adopt, but they didn't.

Gotta agree with you on Kameo. However, PD Zero's development cycle has to be much, much shorter, something close to (gasp!) the industry average. It'll be interesting to see how a non-delayed Rare game performs.

Actually PDZ had also been in development since before they were bought by Microsoft, sure it probably went through a lot of different changes, but so did Kameo, it was originally supposed to be a lot like Pokemon.

You have to remember that they had to transfer all their work from the Gamecube to the Xbox. Then they had to redesign the look of everything (just look at old screen shots, the style of the Gamecube version was very different from the Xbox version). Then when they were finished/nearly finished, they had to turn it into an Xbox 360 game (not only does that add more time to update the graphics but they obviously had to wait until the system was close to release).

I remember reading an article about how this was a growing trend that's going to become much more frequent in the coming generation. Games will get prettier, but they will be much shorter, and more expensive.

I have to agree with Matt, this isn't really too surprising. Of course the game is shorter if they don't have the collection quest padding they usually add.

Oh christ I hope not. If I'm going to spend that much on a game, I better get my money's worth.

If this is the case, however, I suppose I shouldn't feel too bad then that I find myself looking forward to this generation of portable gaming than the next-gen consoles. The games aren't only cheaper, they're typically satisfying length-wise and a rewarding experience.
