Does anyone else like the Daredevil movie? I enjoyed it...even Affleck. I know he has said he doesn't want to do a sequel. Does anyone know why? Also, are there any updates on a possible sequel?
Thanks!!
I heard there would be no sequel since it wasn't that succesul and the Elektra spin off bombed.
I saw it recently for the first time, its not as bad as i thought it would be, it entertained me, nothing groundbreaking but i liked it. I wouldn't mind a sequel.

I caught it on TV over the weekend for the first time. I liked Ben Affleck, but otherwise, I thought the movie was quite awful, the action scenes were pretty boring, and the casting of two people I can't stand (Jennifer Garner and Colin Farrell) didn't help at all.

Same here; I caught it again on TV on Saturday night and it was worse than I remembered it being. I think the first time I saw it I was amazed at how many of Frank Miller's ideas made it onto the screen, but that was before I saw Batman Begins and Sin City and had my expectations raised. I thought most of the casting wasn't that bad, though. It was the script, CG and direction that seemed bargain basement.

Does anyone else like the Daredevil movie? I enjoyed it...even Affleck. I loved "Daredevil," particularly the director's cut. Affleck was, IMO, near-perfect as both Murdock and Daredevil. And I loved the arrogance of Colin's Bullseye. He was great every moment he was on screen. I think the only problem for me was Kingpin, who was underwhelming as the main villain.

Alot of people did not want a Black Kingpin (since Kingpin is white in the comics), and frankly Bullseye underachieved, but they made the Elektra movie because of Daredevil so in a way it already does have a sequel, but I wouldn't want an actual Daredevil one unless they could get some more emotional actors/ actresses.

I just didn't think they did nearly enough with the character. And I'm sure more could have been done with Bullseye, but CF did such a great job of inhabiting the character, that I didn't care. I loved the swagger and sheer arrogance/ego he brought to the guy.

Hehe!! Yeah, I thought the CGI was so bad, I said to myself, "I'd rather watch CATWOMAN again." LOL!!

Personally I liked DareDevil alot more than the other 2003 Marvel movie "The Hulk". I think they did a good job with showing the world from Matt's point of view, and I think they did a good job with potraying his rather abstract powers.
One thing I was a bit disapointed in was how violent of a hero Daredevil was. I mean I can understand they're adapting Frank Miller's stuff, and he's famous for being grim and gritty. But the running theme of "I'm not the badguy" seems undermined when we see him throw a man on a train track, and toss Bullseye out a window.

Oh Jesus, that movie was terrible.
even though kingpin was not white, the actor they chose was still great, and ift perfectly, but the ending with the fist fight was just "meh"
I've never read daredevil but e did seem a little to harsh with his enemies, specially for someone who is a lawyer.

I liked the first one. Too bad all the actors say they don't want to do another one. I would expect they find a way to have a new storyline in the next...lets say 40 years :crying: .

The Director's Cut is ok. It's not spectacular, but it's a good movie. The original theatrical version should never be shown again. They gutted so much of the plot besides the romance subplot that the end doesn't really make sense (Kingpin gets arrested because Daredevil beat on him?)
They overdid it on the CGI He moved more like a toned down Spider-Man than Daredevil.

DareDevil was an awesome movie, and the DC made it even better. It is sad to hear that a sequel might not happen just because Eilektra bombed. Like it's DD's fault Elektra was a piss poor movie that destroyed continuity with DD.
As for Affleck, this is going to be one of those times I think getting a better actor to play DD would be a vast improvement because Affleck was so so.

I enjoyed Daredevl. It wasn't the best comic book movie, and it pales in comparison to some of the newer ones (Sin City, Batman Begins) but it was pretty good.
Oh, and it kicks the butt of some of the other bg Marvel movies. I would rather watch Daredevil again then sit through Hulk, Fantastic Four, or Elektra.
Actually, FF isn't as bad as Hulk and Elektra, but I think I liked DD more.
Anyway, yes I enjoyed the movie. It was interesting and was an enjoyable movie experience.
does the "directors cut" have any scenes cut? or music altered?
i don't want to make any more "mistakes' by having the crappier DC when the theatrical release is better.
Daredevil was good, especially Bullseye.
I think the movie failed cause Kingping wasnt played up enough.
Elektra movie kind of ruined both franchises though, even though I didnt think much of her in the first DD movie.

I have both versions. The DC adds to some scenes, adds a new sublot (coolio) and deletes some things. It changes the tone of the movie a bit. I am sure someone has a detailed list of the differences. I kept both and enjoy them each.
