Opus gets all animatey!

Yes, that Opus. Comics2Film (http://comics2film.com) is reporting that Dimension Studios has optioned Berkley Breathed's famed Bloom County warrior, Opus the penguin, to star in an animated movie.
"Opus and the great folks at Dimension Films are made for each other," said Breathed. "Think of it: Opus is sweet, funny, smart and doesn't wear any pants at work." (C2F)
Berk has also reportedly finished an animated short subject based on his "Edwurd Fudwupper Fibbed Big" which stars John Cleese and features a cameo by Jonathan Winters.

Looks like the looooong BB dry spell is coming to an end.

This is absolutely stupendous news if this is true! I'm doing my best not to get my hopes up, but I would kill to see that... Bloom County warped me at an early age.

I hope it gets made--Bloom County was the coolest. Of course, they'll need to have the other characters: Milo, Binkley, Steve Dallas, Cutter John, Hodge Podge, Portnoy, Bill, etc.
