View Full Version : Favorite Phantasy Star game?

Out of these,i'm gonna go with 4. It was the very first Phantasy Star game I played and I still play it today and LOVE it! I also really like playing 2 once in a while. Many people think Phantasy Star 3 sucks but I still think it's a million times better than Phantasy Star Online *shudders*.

My favorite is Phantasty Star Online just because I played it for a long, long tiem and enjoyed every minute of it, but as far as the actual turn-based Phantasy Stars go, PSIV is my favorite, followed by II.

Phantasy Star 4, although I do really like PSO. I wish my DC modem didn't suck :(

I want to know what happened to that as well. I keep looking for it on Amazon.com, because I keep thinking I've missed it somehow. I keep hearing good thing about this series, and I want to play it, dang it. Maybe I'll just go ahead and get the GBA compilation.

Yeah,I really want to play Phantasy Star 4 on GBA as well.

Phantasy Star IV.
Reasons:

1) Playstation quality game on 16 bit console.

2) Comic book style cut scenes.

3) Awesome combat system (combos, anyone?)

4) Amazing storyline.

5) Bounty hunters.

6) Best vehicles in any RPG ever. Remember the ice digger?

All in all, a graphically incredible (impressed me as much as FFVII when it came out), intensely story and character driven game with one of the best RPG combat engines (outpaced only by the Baldur's Gate series), and an awesome ending. I really don't know why this game isn't one of the most popular RPG's of all time. At least as good as any Final Fantasy game.

Yeah,I really want to play Phantasy Star 4 on GBA as well.
Sadly, the GBA collection doesn't have 4. It's just got 1, 2, and 3.

Phantasy Star IV! *points to icon* Like the topic starter, it was the first Phantasy Star game I played, and I've always like it the best.

Now, I do like PSO (except for Ep. III, that one's just too complicated), but I'd rather have a real turn-based Phantasy Star back in the Algol star system! Are you listening, Sega? I've had enough of these offshoots, let's see what's going on over on Motavia and Dezolis!
