YUSUKE VS SENSUI ROUND THREE: THE SHOWDOWN










The final season of Yu Yu Hakusho is here. Former Detective Shinobu Sensui has succeeded in creating the portal. How will Spirit World prevent the apocalypse? Find out on “The Proof” at 5:30 AM Eastern on Cartoon Network.









Last Time on YYH:




Spirit World sent out the best of the best, the Spirit Defense Force, to seal the portal and to destroy Yusuke’s body. We learn that Yusuke is a Mazoku, or demon descendant, but did not show any demon characteristics because his body was not strong enough to handle his demonic powers. However, since he has been trained in controlling his spirit energy, he can now become a powerful demon thorough the Atavism of the Mazoku. The Atavism transfers genes that have been skipped for many generations. As Yusuke was reviving itself, the SDF were ready to destroy it, but a transformed Puu came to save Yusuke’s body. Now, revived Mazoku Yusuke and Koenma jump on Puu’s back and fly to Demon World for the final fight against Sensui.

After being saved at the nick of time by Puu, Yusuke revels in his new power and resumes his battle with Sensui. Although Yusuke’s skill and strength have increased, he is still clumsy with his new abilities. But there is no time to practice as Sensui bears down for the final confrontation.

I think they corrected their mistake and called him a full demon or something along the lines this week.

Other than that, YYH came off of it's streetfight type feel and went to more of a DB feel.

I hope not since DB and Yu Yu are really similar, for one the voices and the drag on fights between the two most powerful characters for epsiode after episode. They're both annoying in that sense and if I had choice I wouldn't pick either.

I thought this whole episode was a real disapointment. Other than Yusuke's jokes which I enjoy (when they're funny) and the laugh shared with Hiei and Youko the show didn't do it for me. I found it dull and typical or preidctable whichever.

I read the other talkbacks but its still confusing Yusuke died and now hes a demon? is there some rule written in SJ that the main hero can't be full regular human the entire series :confused: its disappointing and now with todays fighting it seems the shows totally changed its style :( theres still a lot of episodes left and the show isn't bad just different so I'll adjust :)

This episode was a blast to watch:anime: . The action was off the wal.l Yusuke was so strong and the preview left me wanting more. A++ excellent!

There's actually some foreshadowing to Yusuke being a demon in the first episode. One of Kuwabara's thugs mentioned that "He's like a demon" or something like that. I didnt think anything of it then though

So, I bought a new remote for my VCR. It cut off before the end of the episode, so I decided I'd set it to end at 2 minutes past the hour instead of on the hour. Only problem is, the new remote I bought doesn't have a clear button! So, there's no way to erase my previous program! I programmed in the new time, and it said the programs overlap. Does that mean it will record the whole thing? Is there anyway to erase a program without a clear button?

Also, there's two big white lines of fuzz on the image. I'm not sure if it's cause of the tape or the VCR, but I bought a new tape today, so hopefully that will help. Argh...why can't they put this on at a decent time. I'm not asking for a timeslot on Toonami or anything, I'm just asking for a timeslot at like 1 or 2 on Friday night. At least give me that.

yeah I meant the dub voices and I know that but after hearing the same couple of guys talk over and over in two similar shows it gets a little tired. Don't get me wrong I love the dub voices but still.

Although I thought every ep. so far has kicked ass (worth getting up for) I noticed it had that DB feel. What with Yusuke and Sensui fighting at these incredible levels while everyone watches. The only good thing is that unlike DBZ, YYH actually has a limit to how powerful someone can get.

Some other foreshadowing was Suzaku (the saint beast) saying right before he died that Yusuke wasn't human.

Didn't catch it on TV because I was out of town and I forgot to rewatch the episode on DVD. Oh well. Better late than never, neh?


Yusuke's fight with Toguro weren't as short as it could have been, and you're right no show can math the drag on of dragon ball but yu yu comes pretty close.Yusuke vs. Toguro was 4 episodes... Goku vs. Frieza was what, 21 episodes? None of the fights after Sensui are longer than an episode and a half, I don't believe.

IMO, the insanely high power levels were done much better and given a better history - for lack of a better term - in YYH than DBZ. Though the final saga gets into that a bit more so I won't say anything else about that.

Anyway, I've always loved Yusuke's line about, "My ticker's still not tickin'." And Hiei actually laughing... amazing to see the day :p I also liked the little part where Sensui is kind of reflecting on "Koenma, you chose your team well," or whatever it was he said. High enjoyment factor for this episode... I'm gonna have to pop it into the DVD player sooner or later (preferably sooner).

Wow....this was almost like watching DBZ all over again, except this will probably not be as long.......I didn't know that demon hearts beat differently from human hearts, but since Yusuke is still technically part human, shouldn't be a little more different from everyone elses....?

Took me two weeks to catch up with what I missed, and more weeks to remember to post here......

I will say one thing......The Avovism of the Mazoku.......honestly......didn't see that one coming at all..................:ack:

Just got the Born Anew DVD today...

Another awesome episode. Sure it was very DBZ-ish, but who cares? The fight was great, that's all that matters. But Sensui's new armor....bleh. You'd think they would have designed that better.
