For those who were wondering what Disney Cartoons (Feature or short subjects) are banned from being seen by the public anymore, here is a list of titles.

"Hell's Bells"
"Trader Mickey"
"Mickey In Arabia"
"Mickey's Man Friday"
"Education For Death"
"Reason And Emotion"
"Der Fueher's Face"
"Commando Duck"
"Song Of The South" (Feature Length)

"Der Fueher's Face" (1943) may be the only (to my knowledge) Academy Award winning film that has been BANNED from ever being seen again by modern day moviegoers, and I find that to be a slap in the face to the Motion Picture Academy that gave the Oscar (For Best Cartoon/Short Subject) to this cartoon.

P.S.
If anyone else that can think of any other Disney cartoon that is censored let me know....

I forgot one more banned Disney cartoon.... "Cannibal Capers"

First we had the "Censored 11"

then it was the "Bugs Bunny Censored 12"

And from now on, this new list will be known as....

"THE DISNEY CENSORED 10"

What about Mickey's Mellerdrammer, where Mickey & his pals put on their verstion of "Uncle Tom's Cabin"?

The Donald Duck short, Spare The Rod, might as well be banned. I'd rather not see it at all than have to sit through that 3½ minute hatchet job that plays now.

Disney just cares about money now...not about their film library.

Apparently, they think the only way they can sell DVD's of Snow White and Dumbo is to feature new music videos of bad singers performing songs that were better done in the original films.

I'm sure Disney gets thousands of requests for Song Of The South, yet they'll keep it from being shown.

They think they can get away with destroying their past films on video and expect no one to notice things like Fantasia's censoring or the removal of 10 minutes from Make Mine Music.

How stupid do they think we are? It's like they're trying to insult those who love animation on purpose!

Disney won't even let the library of congress have a copy of Song Of The South.

Take a look at what Disney is releasing now...Atlantis...more new age crap.

Der Furhur's Face is one example of how paranoid they are...how are they going to offend people? It won an academy award and is considered one of the best cartoons made!

They won't even restore their films...take a look at the Fantasia DVD and notice the huge tape stain during the Ave Maria segment...they just DIGITALLY restored the film! I guess anything without pop music isn't worth keeping for Disney.

That's all my ranting for now...

You think? I used to like Disney when I was around 8-13-A LOT. Particularly the stuff on the Limited Gold tapes (remember those?), plus Scary Tales, Vol. 3 (never saw the other volumes in the ol' video store). Now I don't, and mainly due to the company's money-grubbing habits.

For sure. I want to see it, just because I'm curious. Plus, when I was growing up, my family had these really old books by Disney that collected a number of Disney stories (Babes in Toyland, some Zorro production, Old Yeller, etc.) including (at least) the Tar Baby story. Plus, there will always be the random clip (I swear I once saw a snippet on the Disney Channel during "Vault Disney" once).

{SNIP!}

This is sad. The worst part is: not a single bit of this would ever have happened under Walt's watch. But Roy....oh, Jesus. The company is a whore now. A whore for "family values" and "political correctness". And, you know what-if Gone With the Wind had had Mammy's part excised or altered when it came to DVD, everyone would be complaining, not just a few animation fans.

And the argument for Der Fuhrer's Face is similar to the one for Coal Black. Ask someone in the know, and they say that the cartoon is a classic. But tell Joe Schmoe (who is a moron and gets ticked when his DVD doesn't have the fullscreen option) the plot, and it's curtains.

And finally, there is no excuse whatsoever to not restore those films. For God's sake, look at the pre-1948 WB shorts! Even restored, they look *AWFUL* compared to the post-1948 stuff (i.e., the CBS/ABC/Nick/WB fodder), which should get restored just because you never can tell. Transformers: The Movie (an awful, awful, AWFUL film), which grossed 26 mil at the box office 15 years ago, it has been re-mastered! My God, and Disney doesn't even touch some of the greatest films ever made! They need to realize that s*** happens. How much you wanna bet that Kit Lambert would have never burned the master tapes to Tommy (the Who's rock opera) if he had known that the initial CD release would sound like crud because MCA was forced to use a first-pressing album as the "master"? Plus, I wonder how many classic films have been forever destroyed due to neglect, loss, theft, or (my favorite) the destruction of the studio's vault. Idiots.

More likely, the real reason that this short is banned because Donald appears in a Nazi uniform. This was the reason given for Disney not releasing stills of the short for The 50 Greatest Cartoons : As Selected by 1,000 Animation Professionals.

EarthX is right, Disney doesn't want a neo-Nazi group taking on a Nazi Donald for a mascot, which is something that I heard had happened (hence the reason for such precaution today)

They just don't want one of it's biggest and most popular stars to be associated with Nazi groups, even if they are taking the "Donald as a Nazi" out of context.
