...would it not be on Adult Swim? Cartoon Network has shown DBZ Uncut, Naruto, Sunday Pants all with a TV-PG rating. If it were acquired just now, would it be on CN prime time or dare I say it... Toonami? Also, do you think it would be successful? I personally think if it was not acquired until now, it would be on CN prime time or Toonami. What do you think?

Well... you can't just assume CN would be in the same state if it weren't for Adult Swim's success and Adult Swim's success hinged highly on the acquisition of Futurama a few years back. That led to picking up Family Guy and the rest is history.

But I can say one thing. If CN picked up at mostly TV-PG comedy right now it would most likely be on CN rather than Adult Swim. Point in case... The Simpsons.

I think now it could work on primetime, but some episodes would need to be skipped or edited.

If any comedy were to come to primetime at TV-PG, it'd be the Simpsons.

I have a feeling it would still go to AS.

So much talk about sex could keep it from airing on CN despite having a low content level overall.

It might be able to get away with that at 10:30 P.M.

It was always on Fox, and that is where it will stay.

Their wallets will get them in the end though. They know they could charge a pretty penny for the Simpsons and they also know that Cartoon Network has significantly helped the sales of Family Guy and Futurama. If it doesn't stay in syndication forever then it's going to be on CN.

And no they couldn't really get away with the sex stuff in Futurama even at 10:30. While fanservice and even some types of nudity can get through Futurama has some episodes that are ALL about sex. And that's something CN wouldn't do.
