To me, the "Is this thing on?" board is just a place to show off videos and general spam you wouldn't fit anywhere else. What exactly is supposed to be tested there and what advantage does it have over the Preview button?
I've seen people test sigs and avatars, but aren't they updated on top of all your posts anyway?
I'm a tad confused

I'm a tad confused :sweat:I feel the same way, I think it's pointless for people to test signatures and avatars. However, it does come in handy for poll-testing and trying out vBcodes. And I've seen newer mods test out merging threads on there. It's not necessarily needed, but it's nice to have.
the way i test my sig and avatar i just post on a thread i was going to post anyways, then i am able to see if something is wrong...to test the code or something else if i do it wrong i just edit my post.
but apparently everyone else needs to make atopic about it :/ its not just a toonzone forum thing, almost every forum always has a "testing" thread that is why that forum is up...

Yah but the ones I've seen at least have some pretty advanced features to test. TZ has a lot of things disabled and/or restricted compared to others. Even so, I see no need to have it in any forum at all.

There are other ways to test signatures and avatars, etc. but even those methods have to be tested out by those folks new to vB or even new to message boards. Having the testing board allows people to try out these things and a lot of the other vB codes and options without accidently messing up other discussion threads. It may not be a completely necessary forum, but some folks do find it useful and thus I don't see any harm in having it.
