On Tuesday morning, TNA management informed TNAwrestling.com that the company has come to terms with a "major acquisition" who will appear this Sunday during the live "Genesis" Pay-Per-View.
When reached for comment, TNA President Dixie Carter offered the following:
"This is the single biggest jump in TNA history," Carter said. "The contract is signed, the travel is set and in my opinion, 'Genesis' just got a whole lot more intriguing."
TNA will have further information on the "major acquisition" this Sunday on the live countdown preshow a half hour before "Genesis". It's Christian, but he may go under a different name

At last he's on his own.
Big coup for TNA. Hopefully the first of many.

I'm suprised WWE didn't gift-wrap him.

This is awesome. I can't wait to see him wrestle somewhere he'll be fully utilized. Here's hoping he gets some good theme music akin to his last WWE stuff. That was awesome.

I forgot to mention that Christian will make his debut at Genesis this Sunday. :D

Hopefully they won't make him a Jeff Jarrett cronie.
Now, if he ran in and gave Jarrett an Unprettier...

Hopefully, he's going to be packaged as a solo. He doesn't need to be with his countrymen in Team Canada and have Donuts D'Amore steal his heat.
IMPO, Christian would work best by himself, but here's a thought.
TNA has signed several former WWE stars over the three years+ of their existence. Raven. BG James (Road Dogg). Team 3D (Dudleyz). Kip James (Billy Gunn). Gail Kim, Christian, and the incoming Jackie Gayda-Haas are the most recent ones. Why not put this crew together (having Gail turn on Jingles Jarrett and AMW would be a start) as a unit looking to take over TNA from within? They could make WWE's botched Invasion arc from '01 look like chump change if done right.
Ideas?

Ideas? I think it'd be better to let them get over on their own valition rather than ride the coat tails of the company that screwed them over. Keeping them known as WWE guys would defeat the whole purpose of pushing them in TNA.

That was awesome.a good idea, but i'm sure they'll give him the same butchered watered down theme music they've given to all of the former wwe talents...hopefully tna hooks up with some good music producers real soon...
i think this is a really good shot in the arm for tna...christian has not only a big following to guide him but he's now the strongest tna personality next to jeff jarrett..good to see they now have somehow who can take the mic and run with it. even if he's not given much to work with i think christian is almost as good as kurt and jericho when it comes to improv.

The lame music isn't limited to former WWE guys. I don't think anyone in TNA has particularly interesting or different theme music. The only one I can recognize every frickin' time is Jarrett's because of that godawful siren.

AJ Style's music is particularly catchy. "You are, you are, I am, I am, You are, You are, I am, I am....." And then there's Chris Sabin's music. "Sabin!.... Sabin!... Sabin!" Wish I could write music for TNA.

Good for TNA. Christian deserved so much more than Vince was willing to give him, storyline-wise. I hope he gets a chance to shine and make WWE sorry they let him get away. This peep will be watching iMPACT alot more now, and I might even spring for the PPV. Here's hoping he doesn't just end up jobbing to random guitar shots.

If they pull some kind of swerve and it turns out to not be Christian, I'll be really, really disappointed. Even if Dixie Carter magically brought Owen Hart back from the dead and had him work for her I'd be disappointed. I want Christian in TNA. No one else will do.
What are they gonna call him? Jason Reso? Chris Reso? Something like that?
TNA needs to hook him up with a good knock-off of his opera music and give him his golden shower entrance back. I'd promise to watch Impact! every week if they did that.

He will either continue going under the name Christian or Christian Cage. Christian's situation is simillar that of The Honky Tonk Man who once went under the name Honky Tonk Wayne and because he had used that gimmick in the past the WWE didn't come up with it therefore they don't really own it. Same thing goes for Christian, he went under the name Christian Cage before joining the WWE.

Some news sites are now reporting that TNA has been making a video with the name "Chris Jin." That may actually be his new name.

Rumor has it that Jay Reso has purchased the name of Christian Cage. Me thinks that will be his TNA name.
Edit: Captain Charisma has also been trademarked by Mr. Reso. That's good to hear.:D

Ok, if this is true *please please please* and it is Christian, then that's it. TNA has gained a new viewer. Seriously, I kid you not.
I have been watching bits and pieces. In fact, I watched the prime time special they did on TNA last Thursday (was that the right day?) and am really getting into it. The matches are really fast and frantic, for the most part, and I love cheering on Team Canada. No I am not Canadian, but I think they are good heels and is there any cooler finished than the Canadian Destroyer? I think not.... :D
Anyway, if this pans out, then count me on the TNA bandwagon completely. Heck I already had one foot on, this just seals the deal.

This just sold the PPV for me. Hopefully it's an actual wrestling appearance and not just a run-in or promo, but either way this is great.
Assuming they don't add him to Jarrett's camp. That would be a disaster.

I don't want to rain on anyone's parade, but what if this new wrestler turns out to be Test?

It's Christian. All the wrestling sites have announced it is Christian and that the only reason TNA is holding back the name is because they wanted to make sure they wouldn't be sued if they used the name Christian.
As for Test, he has been seen at TNA events in the audience, but last reports said TNA didn't want to offer him an inital contract.

I wasn't sure that Christian could jump ship so quickly with the way he was so calm in leaving the WWE. And I hadn't heard of Test in a while so I figured he might be the new wrestler.

Yeah, Christian is all but confirmed.
Honestly, I don't think they'd give Test that kind of fanfare. His debut wouldn't be any more fancy than Kip James' was.

That would be very nice. Reminds me of the Outsiders in WCW...they were billed as invaders, but they never actually said they were from the WWF. This group could be just like them but larger.
