If you look really close (or look at the much clearer version of this picture in the spot they play before and after the commercial breaks) you'll notice that Luthor is wearing a gun holster:

However, since regular bullets really wouldn't help him in a fight with Superman, you don't suppose that he's manufactured some kryptonite bullets? They've had them in the comics once or twice before (the criminal Bloodsport had them, but Luthor supplied them to him).

Could be a laser weapon. A Kryptonite laser.

Hmm...

Luthor will have a kryptonite gun. I remember is being used in the comics awhile back. It's basically like Metallo did with his eyes in the STAS - it shoots pure Krytonite (in laser form) which should be neat. I remember this was used in the comic, maybe not by Lex, in the comics.

That sounds cool. I also wonder what kind of powers his armor will gave him.

I dont know if I agree with the Kryptonite Gun.. too difficult to explain and keep without simply doing away with Superman in every fight. Besides, Supes can avoid the Kryptonite energy beam if hes paying attention.. and he most likely will be watching him like a Hawk.

Wouldnt it be easier to have a gun that emits energy similar to that of a red sun?

A red sun gun probably wouldn't have much effect on him if he's battling on earth. Superman acts as a giant battery when it comes to the red sun, and a few blasts of the red sun won't really take much out of him. It may knock him off his feet, but he'll get right back up. With a kryptonite gun, it'll knock down for a few minutes.

I just REALLY REALLY hope that Kryptonite, in ANY form is so rare in the show that it makes MAYBE 2 appearances EVER

Thats the LAST thing the writers need to turn to as a crutch every time they want to make things hard for Superman [sigh  ]

If they bring back kryptonite with any regularity, I hope they bring back Superman's radiation suit as well.

The episode of STAS with the fire girl (what was her name?), the scientists have kryptonite lasers...

Volcana, I think it was.

Me, I don't mind Kryptonite as long as it's used sparingly... which is, more or less, how they handled it in S:TAS. Frequently enough to make it deadly, but not so much that its use doesn't become a generic cop-out.

Agreed.

However, I think that kryptonite bullets would be more deadly to Superman than kryptonite lasers--with the bullet's ability to drive themselves into Superman's body. Do you think that Cartoon Network would let them get away with it?
