As most reviews say, these are fine collections. I got the Mickey Mouse and Silly Symphony sets today as gifts, and they're swell. The picture quality on all of the cartoons are great. Also, a few notes on the so-called edited cartoons.

In "Clock Cleaners", they didn't dub Donald's "Sez Who?", they just blurred it out with Donald's explosive temper, while we hear a dog barking (Pluto perhaps??)

"The Three Little Pigs" has the wolf as a Jewish peddlar in Leonard Maltin's opening, but the scene in the actual cartoons has been totally redone. Now the scene has just the wolf in a different outfit, with no disguise, saying (in a Goofy voice) something like "I'm the door to door brush salesman, and I worked my way through college!"

Overall, these sets are great (besides the two edits). It's great finally being able to see the original "Mickey's Surprise Party"! The SPIRIT OF MICKEY video changed the whole ending, most of the dialogue, and they even changed Pluto's gift to Fifi to "Dog Biscuits" rather than Milk-Bones!!!

I thought it was great too, though I could have sworn that he said "Aw nuts" in "Clock Cleaners" instead of the correct "Says who?" It's pretty clear on my version.

I had a ball clicking the angle button over and over while watching the pencil tests. It's so much fun watching it switch from the cleaned up pencil animation to the finished cartoon with no interruption in the action and sound. I must have watched "Pluto's Judgement Day" five times in a row like that... Fun to see how they would only animate one of the jury cats (or the three little girls, or Uncle Tom) so they would all move in perfect sync.

BTW, I only got the Mickey DVD for Christmas (not that it was the only thing I got for christmas, it's just the only DVD in the series I got), but I got a bunch of money/gift certificates, so I'm gonna see if I can get the Silly Symphony DVD later (I guess I would have gotten the Silly Symphony one instead, but almost every store in our area either hasn't gotten it yet, or had sold out :p ). Even though I don't have both, I'm glad they are selling so well. Perhaps the success of these will cause Warner Brothers to do some DVDs...

The reason you hear a dog barking is because it's a brief clip of an audio track from another cartoon, not "blurring," whatever you mean by that - some kind of audio manipulation, I suppose. Donald's voice is inherently "blurry," which is what caused the whole tempest in a teapot in the first place. Anyway, try listening to the section on headphones if you can and, even better, also to the original track. It's quite plainly a replacement job.
