It’s double the adrenaline, double the action and double the TNA: iMPACT! when Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) appears in its first-ever primetime special for Spike TV. The two-hour TNA: iMPACT! primetime event premieres Thursday, November 3 (9:00 – 11:00 PM, ET/PT), delivering its distinct brand of high-risk, high flying professional wrestling.

The main event will be the NWA World Heavyweight Title rematch between Rhino and Jeff Jarrett. The “Man Beast” Rhino captured the NWA World Heavyweight Championship earlier this month during TNA’s “Bound for Glory” in the biggest night of his career. Rhino won three matches that night, including defeating Jarrett for the belt. Now Jarrett, the self-proclaimed “King of the Mountain” has secured a rematch in this two-hour Spike TV primetime special to try and reclaim TNA’s biggest prize.

The “TNA: iMPACT!” special will also mark the debut of the Ultimate X Match, the most innovative match in professional wrestling. This is the World Premiere on national broadcast cable of the Ultimate X Match. The Ultimate X Match features two crisscrossed steel cables suspended 15 feet above the ring with an “X” hanging over the middle. The first man to navigate to the middle of the cables and dislodge the “X” is the victor. TNA stars Petey Williams, Chris Sabin, and Matt Bentley will take each other on in this high-wire, hard-hitting free-for-all. The winner then becomes the #1 contender to the X Division Title and will face “The Phenomenal” A.J. Styles in a future match.

Additional match-ups in the November 3 special are:

Team 3-D vs. Team Canada (Eric Young & Bobby Rude)

After being humiliated in the ring by Team Canada, Team 3D takes their first steps on their road to revenge against Team Canada

“The Alpha Male” Monty Brown in Action Two-time Super Bowl participant (Buffalo Bills ’93 and New England Patriots ’96) and TNA star Monty Brown continues his quest for the NWA World Heavyweight Title and looks to deliver the ‘POUNCE’ once again to another victim on the Serengeti.

“The Phenomenal” A.J. Styles, Sonjay Dutt and Austin Aries vs. “The Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels, Samoa Joe and Alex Shelley

An all out aerial assault is expected when these X Division contenders show up to battle it out to a victory.

“The Charismatic Enigma” Jeff Hardy, Sabu and Lance Hoyt vs. The “Diamonds in the Rough”

Three of TNA’s most popular superstars team up to take on Simon Diamond’s rapidly improving team. Will The Diamonds follow up on their recent success or will Hardy, Sabu and Hoyt be too much to handle?

Also just to fill some of you in that may not already know. Jackie Gayda has officially signed a deal with TNA and will likely debut at the next set of tapings or at Genesis in a couple of weeks.

I wonder if Jackie Gayda is the girl who is rumored to be with Raven.

The biggest positive of the news of Gayda signing is that Charlie Haas can't be that far behind. :) :)

Nice to know Jackie will be TNA which might mean Charlie will go to. So much talent, so underused.

At times it pays to live in the USA. SD! on Fridays, TNA on Thursdays. No flipping back and forth. Sweet.

I enjoyed Monty's little promo. And his squash. I even liked Jarrett's weird history lesson.

The tag-team X Match was a classic. Perhaps the TV match of the year. Good work by all 6 competitors. I also enjoyed the story it told between Joe and daniels.

It ended on a bad note as Jarrett is the champ again. But it shouldn't be that bad since Jarrett was supposed to be the champ, even if Nash was healthy. I wish Rhino had the belt a little longer though.

This does blow away a lot of the WWE programming. I will continue to support TNA.

it was a lot more entertaining than all the other impact shows i've seen, i can see this becoming a lot bigger and an actual competitor to the WWF which is only a good thing.

Daniels + Joe + Shelley + Styles + Dutt + Aries = pure, unadulterated awesomeness. Best match of the Spike TV era.

I liked the crowd's "Please don't fall" chant during the Ultimate X match. And I was surprised it didn't. The match itself was just ok. I guess they were still sore from Bound for Glory or something.

The title change was so dumb. Always with the run-ins. Can Impact not go a show without an AMW/Jarrett run-ins? I'm so tired of that.

A great ppv quality show!!! The X division 6 man tag was unreal......best tv match of the year easily. I say go ahead and give TNA a monday night time slot against raw. They could easily compete with shows like this. Think about how many peeps would turn channels whenever Vince or Diva segments pop up!

With a show that had Ultimate X, surprise winner = X division 6 man tag. Kudos to all involved. Really great show, felt like a mini-PPV.

TNA delivered yet again. Like everyone has been saying the show was PPV quality good and it just felt right watching TNA for two hours again instead of an hour. Spike TV needs to give TNA a preminent spot on Thursday nights, I don't think TNA has the fanbase to compete with RAW quite yet, but they could easily pull better numbers than Friday Night Smackdown!

Hopefully USA can take a lesson from Spike here. Assuming Raw's going back to the good ol' days of being pre-empted by dog shows and tennis, maybe the network can throw them a bone. I'm sure one of the reasons TNA got last night was because of the Ultimate Fighter 2 finale on Saturday. The only problem is I don't see a replay scheduled for Saturday or Monday night because I fell asleep when Team 3D was on the way to the ring.

What I did see was very good. WWE has ruined my interest in six-man tag matches because they only use them to cram as many guys as possible onto TV and build main events. TNA actually utilizes the fact that there are six men in the ring and makes them exciting.

edit: Sweet. There is a replay Monday night/Tuesday morning at 2 am. Maybe this time I'll remember to set my VCR.

The extra hour REALLY helped it. Granted I skipped a good deal of the matches (since I don't care about Hardy, Hoyt, Jarrett, etc.) but whenever I glanced over, they seemed to be atleast decent. Three pounces, though, was a bit overkill. The Ultimate X was good enough but it suffered from the fact I don't really like Petey Williams and couldn't care less about Matt Bentley.

The six man, though, was EASILY match of the night. Joe, Daniels, Shelley, and Aries all looked great. Sonjay was good as the bump machine for Joe's offense. AJ, though, was kind of the weak link of the match. I like him but he's been suffering a case of Cena Syndrome wherein he's practically invincible and thus it drags down his matches considerably. It was still a great match though with a number of nice moments (Joe walking away from the springboards, Shelley checking his teeth after the Aries dropkick, and Daniels' backbreaker to STO). Easily the best free TV match I've seen in awhile. I just hope that Shelley and Aries come out of it with pushes, maybe even a feud against eachother.

It was awesome to finally see an Ultimate X match on TV, but I must say the 6-man tag match easily was the match of the night. I was impressed by the lengths all the wrestlers went to to make sure the fans got what they came for and weren't tied down with constraints about what they are and aren't allowed to do in the ring.

I'd noticed this since I started watching iPACT! but I think it's cool how there really aren't any major heels outside of Jarrett, AMW and Team Canada. Even those who would be heels in any other place got cheers. It shows a kind of respect that's lacking in WWE. The crowd just seemed to be into every match to an extent that hasn't been seen since ECW's heyday.

TNA getting a permanent thursday night spot would be awesome. I don't think they are ready for mondays or fridays just yet, but a prime-time slot could only benefit them.

Im sure they never want to be on Fridays, that is a horrible night for a wrestling show and Smackdown has the ratings to prove it.

My god... that was awesome. TNA continues to blow WWE out of the water week after week. There was nothing I didn't like about this show.

I thought TNA Impact's primetime special was pretty good. The Six man Tag was awesome. I think Samoa Joe is one of the top wrestlers in the world today. Anyway I thought the primetime special would do better then it did but, it only pulled in 0.9 rating. It looks like TNA isn't anywhere near ready to compete with the WWE but, I think they'll get their eventually as long as they can bring in a couple big name mainstream wrestlers, continue developing their own characters and delievering great wrestling.

I haven't seen a whole ton of TNA, but I recorded the special from 930-11 (though I did see from 9-930). Review later.

Jeff Hardy, Lance Hoyt, and Sabu versus the Diamonds in the Rough was a pretty pointless match. It was ridiculously short for a six man tag and didn't do much to further any storylines. TNA should be able to find something better for Elix Skipper to do than this.

Jeff Jarrett and Monty Brown's promos weren't very good. I've just don't like Monty's style. He sounds like he's trying too hard to remember his lines.

Hey, Monty Brown wins yet another squash. Is he ever going to have a real match on iMPACT!? He's not going to be able to improve in the ring if they don't give him any real opponents.

AJ Styles, Sonjay Dutt, and Austin Aries versus Samoa Joe, Christopher Daniels, and Alex Shelley was the match of the night. Aries was especially impressive in this match. Styles versus Samoa Joe has to the potential to be a huge money match. They just need to wait until they get a larger audience and hopefully they can get the crowd to boo Joe.

Once again Raven shows up only to be thrown out of the building. This angle better be heading somewhere. Raven has too much name recognition to be wasted like this.

Team 3D versus Team Canada was decent. They gave the match plenty of time, but it just wasn't very exciting. It sounded like they're trying to get Eric Young over as a jittery wrestler... well at least he's not just Canadian.

The Ultimate X match was a bit of a letdown. This was the first one I've ever seen, and it just wasn't as good as I expected it to be. It didn't help that I really don't care about Petey Williams, Chris Sabin, or Matt Bentley.

Despite its disappointing ending, Jeff Jarrett versus Rhino was still a solid main event match. I can't believe they built up Rhino by having him win three matches at Bound for Glory only to lose the belt less than two weeks later. Title reigns sure haven't been lasting long in TNA lately.

Im sure they never want to be on Fridays, that is a horrible night for a wrestling show and Smackdown has the ratings to prove it.I think TNA would jump at the chance to be on Friday nights if it meant they would get over four million viewers like SmackDown!

I think TNA would jump at the chance to be on Friday nights if it meant they would get over four million viewers like SmackDown! Smackdown! has been on for over 5 years and has the WWE name backing it up. Not to mention an already loyal fan base that watched every Thursday. TNA would pull the same if not lower ratings then they are currently pulling in on Saturday. TNA is still new to alot of people and they are doing what I think is right for the business and pushing alot of the younger and more unknown talent like Daniels, Abyss, Joe, and AJ. TNA just needs a couple of really big names to come over and help get some of these younger guys over more. A guy like Chris Jericho or Chris Benoit would be ideal to give TNA a huge boost, even Christian would bring alot of people over as well and would really fit in well in TNA.

Watched my tape...

I couldn't help but roll my eyes when Mike Tenay begged people to call their friends. WCW used to do the same thing and it just always sounds so stupid. It's possible WWE did this once or twice, but it was like the biggest event ever and not "tell them to watch our show!" I know TNA needs to build the fanbase, but I never like hearing the announcers appeal to the viewer to get more people to watch.

I felt bad for The Diamonds in the Rough that they got jobbed out to three upper mid-carders. Simon and his guys aren't high on the roster, but they're an actual team.

I was also rather unimpressed with the video that featured Hogan, Sting and Savage. I know those guys appeared in TNA and I know they've shown that video before, but I feel like now they should be beyond hyping these "cameos" to sell their brand. Jarrett made the Hogan excuse back when it happened because Hulk injured his knee and I find it sad that Double J is still using it.

The six-man X-Match was of course excellent. Regardless of his style, I don't like them selling Samoa Joe as part of the division. It just doesn't feel right. He held on in A.J.'s submission for a long time!

Good to see Team 3D finally pick up an actual win. Of course at the end they had them beaten and bloody again. I swear A1 is outside the ring with D'Amore more than he's in the ring.

The Ultimate X Match was fantastic as was expected. I don't know what to really add other than I loved every second of it. They need to come up with some better way of rigging the X/belt though. From what I've read and seen and what I saw last Thursday, it seems that the match's only real flaw is the goal staying where it is supposed to until someone pulls it down.

I hope the booking committee heard the huge cheers Rhino got as the NWA Champion. They made a huge mistake putting the belt back on Jarrett and the more he seems like a crappy Triple H, the more new fans will be likely to be turned off.

They made a huge mistake putting the belt back on Jarrett and the more he seems like a crappy Triple H, the more new fans will be likely to be turned off. That's why putting the belt back on Jarrett was dumb. If Rhino wasn't over when Bound For Glory started (and let's be honest, he really wasn't. Not like a guy like AJ, Raven, or even Samoa Joe anyway) and this whole thing was to make up for not delivering the announced main event, he was over HUGE by the end. The whole "guy overcoming impossible odds" thing usually tends to work fairly well, and combined with most fans' feelings for JJ (which range anywhere from apathy to hatred) it probably could have gotten Bob Holly a Stone Cold-like ovation.

Well I saw this Monday Night and I gotta say TNA is starting to grow on me. I started to bash it way before it started but then I finally got to see it when it Debuted on Spike TV. At first I didn't know what to think yes TNA does have a lot of old WCW ECW and WWE wrestlers in their federation. However they do have some young talent like AJ Styles. I will probally start watching this on a regular Basics now because if WWE continues the way it's going with them cutting down wrestlers contracts. TNA might get the big stars they need to push this over the top.

On another Note they really need to stop giving the title to Jeff Jarrett. I know he owns part of the company I know giving the title to Rhyno was just to award the fans at Bound for Glory. But cmon hes turning into HHH.
