Er... I think Mewtwo Returns was a DTV in Japan.

As far as the theatrical movies... I've got a feeling that, with the diminishing returns the Poke-flicks have gotten in the states, WB will just release them to video from now on.

Oh...so Mewtwo Returns was a movie? I just thought it was a collection of episodes. I quickly glanced at it when lookign at other DVDs in a store and just thought it was another poor WB DVD.

Nope, the Mewtwo Returns movie was just a direct-to-video movie. The real fourth film will be called Celebi: A Timeless Encounter and will involve the chase character from Pokemon: Gold/Silver/Crystal. News about the film can be found here:

So let me get this straight, Pokemon 4 (Mewtwo Returns) isn't really Pokemon 4? And Pokemon 5 (The Celebi thing) is really Pokemon 4?
Will it be released in theatres here in the sates or what? I'll be honest with you, I'd pay to see it. I mean I like the games and the movies, but for the most part, the show sucks.

Mewtwo Returns was an extended TV episode? That explains all the times the movie faded to black like a TV episode. Taht was actually my second thought. At first I thought it was DTV, but the fades made me think otherwise.

Yep. In Japan, it was an extended TV episode. 4Kids chose to make it a straight to video/DVD affair. I doubt Kids WB will ever show it.

So Pokemon's still going strong in Japan? I guess I'm behind, I've only seen the first two. I want to see them in Japanese first, though, which is why I've been waiting. Does this mean there's a FIFTH season airing in Japan, or is it just a 5th movie, so to speak?

Whether you call it a 5th season or not, yes the TV show is still airing. They are going to be in Johto part 3, Johto itself will be longer than Indigo and Orange combined in 2002.

Pokemon Crystal: Raikou: Legend of the Thunder may be a DTV in December 2002

Kids WB has aired Batman: Subzero and Animaniacs: Wakko's Wish, both DTVs.

Mewtwo Returns deserves to either be on PPV, or on The WB Sunday Night as a special.

Well, it has been released in Japan. It's still uncertain when (if ever) they will dub and release it America/England/etc
