Wow! "The Ace of Space" with its original titles? I'm SO glad I taped these two episodes.

WOW! I'm not a fan of the latter-day Famous cartoons at all, but what a thrill to see "The Ace of Space" with those opening & closing titles!!! Did anyone notice that the print was a little worn [during the closing titles, the picture element ended a few seconds prematurely, even though the soundtrack kept playing, then that too cut off before the music was 100% done]. Who cares, though- It's incredible that they were able to unearth a copy of this film in its original form!

It was pretty cool for CN to give us "The Ace of Space" last night! The print shown here in Chicago for many years never showed the scene with Popeye aging! That scene was always missing! Now I know what I've missed all these years! :D

It's also interesting how this cartoon indicated that Popeye is 40 years old (he doesn't look it).

I left 40 not too long ago, and you can see from my avatar how good I look...above the neck anyhoo...
