If the Justice League gets its own dtv movie along the lines of Return of the Joker or Mask of the Phantasm, who do you think the villain should be?

theres only one villian capable of doing something that would warrant the JL to come to save the day in a movie-- and that is DARKSEID

armies, omega beams, and an excellent rhetorical style make him the obvious, and in my opinion ONLY choice for the foe of a movie

If DTV comes about, which is very possible based on the high ratings, I say Darkseid is the best way to go. Him and his legions of Apokolips inhabitants can surely be a worthy foe for the league.

All I have to say on this one is watch S:TAS "Legacy" 1 & 2 and "Apocalypse Now" 1 & 2. DARKSEID is THE villian for an epic JL 3 parter. Those episodes of S:TAS stand out as the standard for what Bruce Timm and Co. can create. That's what I've been harping about in my constructive critisism of the Superman in JL. I'm finally starting to adjust to the new voice but the actor still has to find that authoritative aura that Daly had with his Superman. Have a Happy Holiday everyone!

I'll add a vote for Darkseid.

As much as I don't like to follow in everyone else's footsteps, I'd have to say that I can't think of anyone else more suitable. Darkseid, indeed.

Absolutely. I showed Legacy to company that I had over today and they were quite impressed. We're talking unwashed non-animation fans here. Give me Darkseid with Superman at the lead showing strength and determination because he knows all too well what Darkseid is capable of. Hope everyone's holiday was a great one! :)

I would like to see them go on head to head with the Legion of Super Pets.

Or Darkseid.

I guess if they were to make a JL movie I would love for them to use a storyline involving Doomsday! Maybe they could even visit the underworld and take on Aries to save Superman's soul! I agree with others on this board that the villian would have to be pretty impressive!

Also if Batgirl ever makes an appearance maybe they could do a Killing Joke storyarch, though I love the old Batgirl!!!

It's settled then. This is a job for Dick Grayson. Dick, have your people contact Timm's people and get this done. Darkseid it is - and Doomsday could be his creation (after all we don't have to follow comic continuity). The Toon zone faithful have spoken. By the way - when the Animated DVDs hit the stores in April, I'm buying them for myself and giving them out as presents to my friends and family for birthday's, graduations, etc. I don't even care if the recipients want them or even have DVD players for that matter. We must support these releases so WB will give us more BTAS and STAS.

I think Ras A Ghul would make a good villain for a JL movie. It could be based on the Tower of Babel storyline. I didn't choose Darseid because if they use him, then the New gods would also have to been shown and that would be ALOT of heroes to show and might take away air time from the JL memebers.

Well, Timm said that Legacy will more than likely be dealt with in Part 2. If you recall in my interview with him, there was a scene in Part 1 of Secret Origins that was originally supposed to be extended by a few seconds to include an extra comment by the General ("Especially HIM!") that referred to (barely) to Legacy. Hopefully when STAS airs on CN, JL fans will watch it so they'll all know about Legacy.

If the deman for a JL movie is there, then I'msure it'll happen. I'll let ya know if anything develops, as usual. :)

If it DOES feature Darkseid, its going to have to involve the New Gods. Darkseid isnt going to come to earth without something bringing him here. If he divides his power & control over that kind of distance, then it makes the New Gods war with him that much less difficult. Its not tactically sound. So we need to have a reason. hmmmmm

Maybe a couple of the New Gods try to become members of JL with the hidden intent of dragging ITS heroes into the fight against Darkseid. thus gaining Darkseids attention on Earth?

I also have some really cool ideas for a Legion Of Superheroes movie.. everytime I think of it my hair stands on end and I get the creepy crawlys in my skin.. its exciting

Yeah I'd go with Darkseid too. Although it would be cool if they created an all new, very powerful villian for the league to fight.

An all new powerful villain would be cool or perhaps just a villain that we haven't seen in the DC animated universe.

I would love to see an animated movie of the JL. They could make it like an issue of JLA where a really powerful version of Amazo duplicates the JL's powers, and the only way to defeat him is to overload him by calling in ALL of the JL reserves. Or, instead of Amazo, a construct created by Darkseid in his bid to destroy the heroes of Earth.

Darkseid an his minions seem like a great choice. Remember how Batman went with an all new villian (with help from the Joker - who wasn't even the real villian in the peice) and look how awesome that turned out. With JL, there is alot of potential here for a new villian to rear their ugly head.
