I, being cheap, decided to go for the "inexpensive-but-meaningful" route of painting some people their presents. Way to abuse my ability to draw!

Anyway, this is the Christmas present for my mom. It's a watercolor of a traditional Chinese goddess. The paper was too big for my scanner, so I had to scan in two parts and merge them with Photoshop, but I'm sure you can't notice ^_^

My Chinese name is written at the bottom right hand corner:

HUGE thanks to Toonzone for hosting this picture! For some reason, my ftp can't access my sixies.org hosting ;_; Merry Christmas everyone!

I noticed no one had replied to this one yet. So I just wanted to say that I thought it looked fantastic! Love the colors.

(blinks) Wow, how the heck did I miss this?? I've worked with watercolors before, they're a tough medium to tame...but you've done it quite nicely here. :D Excellent job!!

I love your picture!! The use of color is beautiful! And I think giving pictures as gifts is a great idea....now I just have to find my artistic talent... :p

That's for damn sure! I was just working on a watercolor painting tonight and it can look a little sloppy, especially with the shading and doing folds in cloth or clothing. Good job with your painting.

Goodness gracious!! It's a very beautiful peice. I gave up on watercolours (oils and acrilics) years ago, but seeing your work almost wants me to try again.

Great job!

Oh and I think more people were frugal for the holiday season that I ever remember before, so you weren't alone in that regard. As long as she enjoyed it, then it was worth it, ne?
