How do you make a podcast?
[PLEASE NOTE: PLEASE INCLUDE INFO OF WHERE TO HOST MP3]
I am very tired and i'm getting ready to go to sleep, you can get all that info here Podcastplayer.org or with a semi-simple google search.
If you're lazy ;D then just wait until tomorrow and i'll give you a quick rundown.

Podcast has become something of a buzz word.
Are you starting an audio blog or some thing that people will subscribe to, or do you just have a few mp3's you want to share.
Because I think something like Audioblog.com or Blogger.com would do everything you need for an audio blog.
If you just have a few files to share, they can be upload to any web host and linked to them as needed.
If you want to do anything more complicated there is no quick answer.

You could also try Winamp's SHOUTcast Radio.
http://www.shoutcast.com/
SHOUTcast is Nullsoft's Free Winamp-based distributed streaming audio system. Thousands of broadcasters around the world are waiting for you to tune in and listen. Take a peek through the SHOUTcast directory (immediately listed below) to start browsing the most popular stations. Be sure to select your connection speed and then what kind of music you're looking for over on the right hand side for optimal listening pleasure. All you need is a player (we recommend Winamp) and you're set to go!
I love to listen to some SHOUTcast stations on my Winamp.

I love to listen to some SHOUTcast stations on my Winamp. I never thought about doing it that way....but I think I want to stay with iTunes.
[I am sorry if I am bumping this thread. I mean, I'm really not, considering people are still responding to stuff on page 2].

1. Know that every loser schmuck has his/her podcast now.
2. Get a decent microphone.
3. Record yourself talking about something.
4. Edit using an audio program like Cool Edit Pro (or whatever its called now)
5. Find bandwidth provider.

I wanted to make a weekly Podcast on the iTunes program.
If that's the case, I think audio blogging would be the easiest way to go. Not only do they help you set up the RSS or other feed needed to distribute your podcast, they offer a format to get feedback and interact with your listeners.
Audioblog.com looks like it would offer everything but the initial blog for a $4.95 per month fee. You can make your own mp3's or submit it through a phone call.
Here's how I think you can do it for free
Set up a blog with Blogger.com
Host your files on Ourmedia.org
To syndicate the podcast, Blogger recommends Feedburner.com.
So create those three accounts, read over their help and FAQ sections and I think it should work.
Maybe someone else here has some real experience with this, because I've never used them myself. Not that big of a talker.
