No contest. 60's. Those were classics.

I liked the 60's better - they didn't seem so forced. The 80's version simply tried too hard to be like the 60's, but adding "new stuff for the kids" like Elroy's pal "Orbity". They couldn't leave well enough alone.

I don't plan on buying the '80s collection if it ever comes out.

I'm not voting (yet), but I kinda like the '80s series better than the '60s series. The '60s was kinda dated in a bady way and the characters were rather bland. The '80s series, on the other hand, had work by John K. and David Feiss (creator of Cow & Chicken).

I agree the original series is a little dated now, add the fact that for a series set in the future, there were no alien characters. The 80's series certainly brought it new life, had a more futuristic look, as well as alien characters, and finally had Astro and Rosie appearing together in episodes, unlike the original.

The 60's Jetsons by FAR! The 80's Jetsons were just flat. They were designed for a different age group. They lacked "heart". In the Jetsons Season One DVD, Janet Waldo recounts how a recording session averaged 6 hrs on the original series and just an hour and a half on the 80's series. No "heart". The animation was done by pacific rim animation houses and was just "lackluster". Even viewing the individual animation cells, on the market, from the 80's series was dissapointing. The only 80's series episodes I considered noteworthy were John K's "Hi-Tech Wreck" and the "Jetsons Christmas Carol". I had really hoped that the Jetsons Movie would have restored some of the "heart" of the old series, but I found that dissapointing, too. In the 1990 Siskel and Ebert review of the movie, they stated it was an "opportunity lost". To bad. I really, really like the Jetsons. Enough said.
