Well, actually I was referring to his multiple anime "My opinion is this, what's yours?" topics. I love Gundam Wing.

I dunno, the movies released in 1981 are what started the craze to begin with.

Can't beat a classic.

Although, there is a special place for 0083 and Turn-A

I thought it was the TV series in 79, the movies just made things bigger.

Besides, that stuff was Gundam, this thread is about the best 'Gundam Wing anime', which can only mean Gundam Wing or Endless Waltz.

I'd like to say that Zeta or even the original Mobile Suit Gundam owns both of those series.

But Gundam Wing = the best Gundam Wing Series. Yup, it's true.

Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz: the Speical edition with the extra scenes is the best Gundam Wing anime.

To this day, I love that movie. And I love the MSTing of it more.

Gundam Wing still holds a place in my heart, espiecally when Herro Yuy can survive anything and Duo can smile at everything.

Gundam SEED is slighty a notch better in my opinion. They had a great last half, but they copied the Orginal Gundam in plot a little too much. That, and the the Producer's didn't even seem to develop many of the characters.

You're a tad bit on the spam side. Never a good idea to join a forum then make tons of threads and posts in a short amount of time.

the title says Seed vs. Wing but with the comments of "best gundam ever" I had to add to the mix

And no, the original series was cancelled 10 eps early due to a lack of ratings, the craze began in '81 when the first of three Gundam movies were released

I got to see both, and while you can never truly do justice to character development when you take a series and make it into an abbreviated movie or miniseries, I just found the Gundam MS movie trilogy to be more appealing

Just because something is original doesn't make it automatically the best. I personally liked BGC 2040 way better than the original. Between Seed and Wing I have to go with Wing, Gundam Seed seemed too much like a remake of the original (0080).

Out of all of the Gundam series I would have to put Wing and 08th MS team at the top for their story and character development. Although Seed would definitely be above the original MS Gundam and EVERYTHING is above G Gundam.

I'd rank Char's Counterattack the highest, followed by Destiny(despite the final 5 episodes being subpar), 0080, MSG, G, SEED, 08th MS Team, 0083, Endless Waltz, Wing, and finally SD.

Simply from what I've seen.

And I thought that it was Syndicated rerurns that helped resurrect Gundam, and caused the movies to be made.

Can't I just worship both of them?

Anyway, Wing gets the slight nod for 2 reasons.
1. Zechs Merquise and the Tallgeese still hold a special place in my heart. My first true anime obsession.
2. I haven't seen Destiny yet.

Right behind both is 08th MS Team.

My favorite Gundam is 08th MS Team, followed closely by 0080: War in the Pocket. Other Favorties are Wing, Seed, and After War Gundam X, which probably will never be seen in this country. And my favorite Gundam Wing Anime is Shin Kidousenki Gundam W.

I think it is more of a question of SEED vs. 0079. That is because just about every alternative universe series borrows elements from Gundam 0079.

Wing borrowed a lot and SEED borrowed twice as much.

I'd have to go with the original series over both of them, but if I have to choose the lesser evil, it would be Wing. Wing had a much more serious political and philosophical story and the animation was pretty consistant for 40-some-odd episodes.

I can't stand SEED. I find the characters unappealing, the story overdone and the animation horrid. Do you have any idea how much line noise is on all those static images?

Gundam SEED may feature some of Sunrise's worst Digital Compositing ever. Especially considering that WHR, which was made pre-SEED has better compositing inspite of the 3D backgrounds. Planetes which was made about the same time as SEED at Sunrise has better compositing too. Seriously.

So, by visuals, I'd go Wing. The traditional cel is much easier on the eye.

By stories, I'd say I can't really get into either. It's UC or nothing for me.

Gundam Wing is my favorite Gundam series and favorite mecha series. Great characters, great mechs, great soundtrack and solid animation for it's time. Truely a great series. A bit heavy on polictical debates though...

See, comments like that aren't needed. It's border line bashing. If you don't like G, fine. But you don't need to take lousy shots at it.

And by the way- the original series is 0079, not 0080.

.....Seriously, they aren't all called Gundam Wing. The general name is just Gundam. Gundam Wing just happened to be the first to air in the US but a number of other Gundam series had come before it.

Despite this thread making absolutely no freakin' sense, the gist of what I can make out, Gundam Wing wins by default. Seed was doo-doo for the first half, and barely average for the second half, making the overall score not too good. Destiny is maybe better than Wing, but I don't know. Anyway, when it all boils down they're both at the bottom of the Gundam list. 08th MS Team, 0079, 0080, Zeta, and Turn A are the real weight.

Its definitely Gundam Wing.;) Gundam Seed was not interesting at all. The only thing I like about Gundam Seed was the opening and ending theme songs.:p I think that there have been too many Gundam series made already and when they creators created Gundam Seed, I think they shouls have took a second thought about it. I don't hate Gundam Seed, its just that the show isn't too eye catching to watch. Gundam Wing was excellent when it was first brought here in U.S. but it seems like all the spin-offs are the same as the first one just with different characters. I just hate that Gundam Wing isn't airing on T.V. anymore.

I mean, that was the saving grace of seed, and unfortunately I try to find a saving grace for seed destiny (outside of music) and I draw a blank here. Granted toward the end with operation meteor, gundam wing bit off mobile suit gundam (0079), however, Gundam Wing had such a deep philosophical and political message, in that everything in a war isn't always black and white, and at the time it was a good message. Again gundam w > seed

The franchise should have stopped right after Turn-A because that to me was the series to end all Gundam series.

I'm going to have to go with wing. It was a diffrent take on the gundam story. Seed IMO was almost a wing copy and it didn't even do a good job.

Wing thought way too highly of itself, while SEED knew what it was. A clone of 0079.

That said, the quality gap between 0079 and SEED is nowhere near as bad as the crushing gap Zeta has over Destiny.

So, uhm, they both suck and your money is better spent buying Zeta Gundam! But Wing at least tried something new.

Ya know, you could always...buy the DVDs?

Might as well give my opinion on the matter- I think both shows have pros and cons. Wing took alot of plotlines from UC and filled itself with hollow philosophy which brainwashed fans will claim is amazingly deep. SEED has pacing problems and often makes the main characters near invincible (more so in Destiny), which is a problem Wing also had.
