By my point of view i basically think that PS3 is a lot better than Xbox 360.
I just saw the stats for both the PS3 & Xbox 360 7 as i was comparing them i saw that PS3 has a huge edge over Xbox. Because as the stats show, it is faster than xbox360, it has better graphics, has the power of a compuer, doesn't need memory card at all ( Xbox needs), 7 other reasons.:zim:

Yes the fate of mankind rests in the hands of a decision being made between two consoles that have yet to reach the public. Weee!! ;)

what?:gir:
And once again, the Nintendo Revolution isn't even considered a factor in the next gen war :(
Well at least you didn't claim you were getting "both" of the next gen systems.

The PS3 and Xbox 360 both blow in contrast to the Revolution, Mr. Scientist!
And what's with the random 7's?
And your points are all arguable,
let's review...
aw the stats for both the PS3 & Xbox 360 7 as i was comparing them i saw that PS3 has a huge edge over Xbox. Oh ho ho?
Because as the stats show, it is faster than xbox360, It depends on what your looking at, yes in alot of the cases it is faster, but not all.
it has better graphics, Hhm, can't really say, because we haven't really seen a game, I mean, they said the MGS4 trailer was real time, but what's to say that's how it will look in the final product?
has the power of a compuer, What computer?
And consoles nowdays have the power of a computer, don't they?
doesn't need memory card at all ( Xbox needs), Ugh. Now this is just fanboyism, Xbox 360 doesn't require a memory card, as there is a detachable harddrive. And the same goes for PS3 (for now anyway), a detachable harddrive was announced, and that, instead of memory cards, you can use memory sticks to also save your games...
7 other reasons. Well, that proves everything, doesn't it?

What? A system coming out a year later is more powerful? No way! :p
Um, yeah but that's what I would expect. However the Rev will beat them both in time. ;) (why does no one make it a 3-way fight? )

Yes, there's a difference. You can technically have stats on a console, but pre-release stats are poor representations of real world game performance, because they're generally not collected from actual games. Thus, early performance stats tend to be highly idealized.
Furthermore, how do you quantify "faster"? The most publicized components of the PS3 might look more impressive on paper, but the specs I've seen show that Sony's lagging in terms of bandwidth between components. This may limit real world performance. I believe there's also some question as to whether or not the Cell's design is really all that suited for the most frequent game calculations. It doesn't matter how powerful a processor is if it's architecture isn't suited for the task. Will this be the case for the PS3? It's too soon to tell.
Better graphics? What screens have you been looking at? So far, I've seen spectacular images and utter garbage for both systems. You also forget that the majority of developers will be using the same middleware for both platforms, and that having been said, middleware has yet to demonstrate any significant advantage to either system. If one console is truly in a class of its own, that fact won't emerge for some time, probably a year or more, after its release.
Power of a computer? The 360's already way beyond most available computer parts (for now). Plus, as a console, the price / performance ratio won't be beaten by PC's for a long time.
Haven't heard any reports about the PS3 not needing memory cards, either. Have a source on that? Even if true, I'm sure a lot of people will still have a use for memory cards on the system.
You might one day be proven right... but as of now, your claims are far from fact.

Because as we all know, the system with the best computing statistics is the one that does best.
You know, like how the N64 did better than the PS1...oh, wait.
Or how the Xbox and GameCube both outdid the PS2...erm, nevermind.
Well, at least the smashing success of the 3D0 is evidence...or the way that the Sega Game Gear utterly dominated the Gameboy...

spoontang has a point, for the most part
all those systems outperformed their competition, in my opinion, because of the game libraries. personally, i prefer nintendo because none of the games on microsoft's system or sony's systems intrigues my interest

Xbox 360 > PS3 < Revolution
Your opinion < My opinion > Everyone else's opinion

And once again, the Nintendo Revolution isn't even considered a factor in the next gen war :(I think Nintendo's okay with that, though -- they're not attacking the same market in the same way as Sony or Microsoft. They can be profitable and innovative without being #1.

Well at least you didn't claim you were getting "both" of the next gen systems. To be honest, nobody mentioned Nintendo or the next-gen war. The only thing Smallville was asking was which system would be better. You brought Nintendo into it. :p
That being said, the ONLY thing that will determine which of the three systems is "best" is the quality of the games. That's it. And while some of these laucnh titles will be better pretty good, from my experience it takes a year or so before a system really gets into a grove.
As an aside, I don't know which system I'll be getting yet (I'm not going to waste money on more than one). It will depend on the quality and variety of the games. I bought a Playstation 2 way back when because it had a number of games from my favorite genres (RPGs and platformers). I suppose I'll do the same in the next gen.

deathbywhatever what are you doing?
those were my points & they have already tested the PS3 & that's how i know & that's how everybnody else knows. & who cares if the PS3 is coming out one year later. that doesn't say that it is a bad system. the reason PS3 is going to be launched next year is because it has a lot of sofisticate software in it. It needs to be made carefully, whtout errors. that's why. the PS3's software is a lot more complicated than Xbox360's. & news say that it will be real-time. is this enogh for all of you Non-PS3 fans.

I like the new Xbox better because of Dead Or Alive 4.

My vote is for the PS3. I've been a long-time fan of Sony (90% of the electronic equipment in my house is Sony). They've never let me down (ok, just once with a Vaio Laptop....what a POS that thing became). Anyway, the Playstation 3 looks great. From what I heard, it's supposed to be quite and interesting little machine. I can't wait to get it so I can play Resident Evil 4/5.
Until it arrives, all we can do is drool. :D
