The release dates for Batman, Batman Beyond, and Justice League have been announced! As we previously reported, April 2002 will be the month that these DVDs will be released. Now we have a more specified date - April 23rd, 2002. Here's the rundown:
04/23/02 - Batman & Mr. Freeze: Sub Zero
04/23/02 - Batman Beyond: The Return of the Joker (original cut)
04/23/02 - Batman/Superman Movie, The
04/23/02 - Batman: The Animated Series - The Legend Begins
04/23/02 - Justice League

<li>Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker - The Original Cut
The original cut will be the print seen in the masny bootleg screeners that circulated in November of 2000 when WB announced that the film would be re-edited. The 'original' version will include the unedited flashback sequence, Bonk's original death scene, as well as longer version of fights sequences and original dialogue. World's Finest has a complete listing of all 50+ cuts that WB did to the movie, which can be viewed <a href="http://wf.toonzone.net/bbeyond/rotjcuts.html">Here</a>. WB released a "new" version, which was still critically acclaimed but only had fair sales. Rumor has surfaced that this version will be presented in widescreen. Release Date: April 23rd, 2002.
<li>Batman: The Animated Series - The Legend Begins
This DVD will contain the first five episodes of the series in production number order. Extras include a featuette and intros for each episodes. The episode included on the disc will be "On Leather Wings", "Christmas With the Joker", "Nothing To Fear", "Pretty Poison", and "The Last Laugh". The first DVD will determine whether or not WB will release furthur volumes of Batman: The Animated Series. Stay tuned for updates on the specs of this disc. Release Date: April 23rd, 2002.

This DVD will collect the three part Superman episode World's Finest which was put to VHS in 1998. The VHS was a huge seller and still sells well to this day. The three part team up was originally aired in fall of 1997 and was supposed to introduce Batman onto the network, but Kids'WB! jumped the gun and aired two episodes of Batman before the three part team up aired. The disc will likely just collect the episodes and have little or no extras. The plot of the episodes involve Joker and Luthor teaming up to Bring down Superman and Batman. Release Date: April 23rd, 2002.
<li>Batman & Mr. Freeze: Sub-Zero
This DVD will collect the original direct-to-video Batman movie which was released in 1998. The plot of the movie involved Mr. Freeze kidnapping Barbara Gordan so he can save the life of his dieing comatose wife. This movie was supposed to be released in conjunction with 1997's abysmal Batman & Robin live action movie. It is expected this DVD release will lead into the anticipated new animated direct-to-video Batman DVDs, scheduled to be greenlighted shortly. Release Date: April 23rd, 2002.
<li>Justice League: The Movie
<a href="http://wf.toonzone.net/jl/soep19.jpg"><img src="http://wf.toonzone.net/jl/soep19.jpg" width=160 height=120 border=0 align="right" vspace=3 hspace=3 alt="Justice League"></a>This DVD contains the three part series opener "Secret Origins" for Justice League. The plot revolves around the Earth's greatest heroes saving the earth from a massive alien invasion. The sale sof tis DVD will likely determine whether or not more Justice League episode arcs are released to DVD. This disc is expected to contain a small amount of extras. Release Date: April 23rd, 2002.
