After rewatching Jitters, I got a creepy thought on the event that will drive Luthor to the dark side...maybe he'll kill his father or be involved in his death. Thoughts?

I remember coming across a Superman Annual or collected miniseries or one shot entitled "Lex Luthor" a few years back which pretty much reprinted and revealed his entire shady history. From reading the back, I remember that something was said of how he murdered his parents. Since Smallville also went along with Dc's idea to have Lex become president someday, I don't doubt that he will someday kill ol' Lionel, and possibly his mother too.

I'm sure it wouldn't surprise the townsfolk. Seems that most kids in Smallville kill their parents!

I thought his mother was already dead.

I'd be surprised if Lex were brazen enough to directly kill his dad, but I wouldnt be too surprised if he set off a chain of events that led to his dad's death. Or if he had an opportunity in which his dad would either live or die and Lex left him to die. Interesting thought though...

I guess I would be kinda suprised to see this happen. Lex is pretty much a good person right now, and I don't see that changing for awhile. Lex doesn't care much for his dad, but I can't see him killing him at this point. I'm always excited when I see John Glover's name in the guest stars, because their relationship is interesting to watch.

I suppose anything is possible in Smallville though.

Ah, Lex has you duped. You know, Lex acts very nice around other people. But some of the nicest people can be total jack asses in private, and even abusive and violent. People always thought my dad was a great person when they met him out in public, but at home....forget that nice fascade. Lex has a dark side, make no mistake about it. And one way or another, I think he will kill his own father, but more than likely it will be done thru a network of other people so the murder cannot be easilly pinned on him.

I think Glover is a great actor, too, and the contrast between Lex and his dad is very intruiging. The exact opposite of Clark - which brings nice tension.

Lex is pure evil, as is his father...and as we all know, evil hates other evil. This is why they don't get along.

I think what many see as Lex being good, is really, lex disliking bad publicity. Take the ep @ the plant with Vibrating Guy. Lex didn't care about the kids, he cared that clark might get hurt (cause he has plans for clark) and he cared that it would look bad on TV. Mark My Words...LEX IS EVIL!!!

Hm, I could see that. Really, Lex's gradual decent into the Dark Side will be the main thing that keeps me watching, as the actors that play Lex and his father have great, antagonistic chemistry together.

Anyone remember a show called "Brimstone"? John Glover was in it and played ultimate evil himself, the Devil. He's a great actor and I hope we get to see more of him in "Smallville". Watching Lex and Lionel trying to out-maneuver each other is fascinating.

I thought the opporsite, I thought he claimed it was about bad PR so his dad would approve, but I also thought he cared more about the kids, Clark especially, than the bad PR associated with it. I think he's trying to walk a fine line between trying to do what's right and trying to please his dad, and the two just dont seem to be on that same line.

Did anyone not see the LATEST episode?

Forgive me If im worng, I did not see the 1st episode, but I believe there was some sort of Car accident.

Well in the Last episode Lex still has that car!! I think he suspects some one has powers, It
d be silly of him not to suspect Clarke.

He saved the car, and I know he will investigate the broken wall at Lex Corp. He's gonna start figuring things out here soon, if he hasn't already

*snicker* *cough* Sorry. I spend too much time at MBTV (http://www.mightybigtv.com). A line like that can, and will, be taken certain ways over there.

Anyway, let me make this coherent. I think Lex's descent into darkness is probably the only reason I still watch this show. Nothing else is interesting.

I mean, come on, we all know how the characters are going to turn out. (And if you don't, put the remote down and back away from the TV.) Clark is a good guy and will grow up to be a good guy. Okay. Great. Lex is a good guy and will grow up to be a bad guy. That's just so much more intriguing to watch. How is that going to happen?

Do I think Lex will kill his dad? Honestly, I think it's possible, but later on. It would be the last thing he does on the road, 'cause after something like that, there's no turning back.

I think this Lex/Lionel confrontatiion won't happen for a couple seasons set, but wathcing Lionel and Lex butt heads is just a great thing to watch. No wonder Lex travels down the road of evil -- look at his pop! I think that it's highly possible Lex will orchestrate or at least somehow be involved in the death of his father.

Yeah, I remember that ep with the car in it. Lex said that he had had a whole bunch of science type guys take a look at it. And he kept hinting how interesting it was how Clark had saved him. He hints to something like that again in the jittering man episode. He wonders how it was possible for Clark to pull up two grown men all on his own. If Lex is evil, now, he is the greatest of all actors, because he pulls you into to thinking that he has this horribly evil father, but that he is actually very nice! I love the guy who plays his dad, he and Lex have such a great chemistry on the screen. Lex is a great villain, he has so much depth to him.

On the "Superboy" series Luthor did kill his father and his mother both!
