Do you have a reservation? If not, I'm afraid you can't get in to watch this week's episode of the second season of 'Winx Club.' Our princess is getting married, and she demands perfection! So if you didn't call ahead, then scram!

For those of you still here...

*Previously on 'Winx Club'*

After being blasted out of a tunnel in the UnderRealm, Bloom, Stella, Sky, and Layla are forced to search for another way to Shadow Haunt. It doesn't take them long to find one, and they are greeted with Darkar's lair shortly after emerging from a rock formation.

Meanwhile, tired of waiting, Darkar gets close and personal with the pixies, threatening to eat them unless they divulge the location of their home village. That finally gets Lockette and Chatta talking, and Darkar runs off to find it. He eventually learns... they were lying to him just to keep themselves alive for a bit longer.

Back with our heroines, as Layla blasts ahead to free the pixies. After some effort, she succeeds. But she returns to the others... finding them 'reacquainting' with the Trix: Icy, Darcy, and Stormy. Bloom and company are surprised not to only find the witches free, but more powerful than ever! The latter is apparently made evident as the group gets beaten down. But before the Trix can finish them off, they're saved by a mysterious golden-glowing figure... a paladin who sends the witches flying!

With the pixies free, the gang prepares to take care of their other problem. And Layla wonders if Darkar let them off easy... and if he did, why?

Episode #132 - "My Boyfriend's Wedding"

Summary: Amentia of Downland wants to marry Brandon, and Stella's going to have to hustle if she's to get there before they pass the 'if anyone objects to these two being wed, speak now or forever hold your peace' part. Will Stella save her 'boo' from being forced down the aisle?

Crash the party by not following the rules, and expect to find yourself sitting in Downland's Dungeon for the rest of your days! For everyone else... see you at the post-wedding reception!

Definite filler episode. It was decent, but nothing spectacular happened. I liked Stella's attitude in the beginning. She amused me. And it was nice to see some pixie power.

Name conflict:
The little orange pixie that's not one of the main six came in toy form with the magic wand. Her name on the package: Glim. In one of the earlier eps, Layla calls her Blinky. Now in this episode, she's Glim again. Confusing.

Stella sure had a lot on her mind this week... loved her in the beginning of this episode, and in the end.

Oh, and I know mg_winxclub doesn't like it when we nitpick, but I'm sorry, this has to be said. What the heck happened in that scene with the 'guard worm?' It appears for a few seconds as the quartet confronted it. The next time we see the gang, they're being chased by the guards again! What in tarnation happened to that worm?

Most of the second half of the episode felt jumpy, too.

Eh... I'll provide a full review sometime tomorrow, after I've had time to watch the episode again on tape. Maybe then I'll be in a better position to analyze the good and bad points of this episode.

The episode would've been better with tighter pacing. The whole getting to the wedding to save Brandon seemed to take too long, and as such, once they got to the wedding, it all went ridiculously fast. They needed to get to the wedding faster, and spend a bit more time with the events there. Or it seemed like the episode should've been better than it was.

On another note, Queen Amentia herself seems like what Stella would be like without any good qualities.

Anyway, good points, good points... oh yes. Stella. I loved Stella. She seemed a little weaker earlier in the season, though more recently, and including today, seems to be back to the Stella some of us know and love.

Either way... first impressions, it was a decent, if not overly spectacular episode.

On an unrelated note, weren't there some people somewhere who complained about Stella getting Amore instead of Chatta? Seemed today there may be a really good reason for that: Stella today didn't seem too patient in dealing with Chatta. Seems the two could clash easily, even.

Totally agreed. It's definitely a case of them being too similar to get along.

On another note, I think Amore might be voiced by Flora's VA. She sounded Floraish today.

Definitately not a bad episode. The dialouge has improved somewhat this season. At least the lines that are meant o be funny actually are.

Sadly they edited out Bran's childhood flashbacks from the original. It's too bad they looked funny (chibi-Brandon getting slapped).

Also, Sponus (or whatever his name is) was clearly drunk.

Everyone is a critic I suppose. Some cool points were obviously overlooked by previous posts. Amore's idea saved the day! That rocked! Also, you didn't think the pixies hiding in the cups and then people seeing flying dishes wasn't funny? That was fun pixie action! It was a great filler episode to close out that mini-story arc. It was required for continuity. If they all of a sudden appeared topside safe and sound, you all would be complaining about not knowing how Brandon got out of the wedding.

My opinion, if the description for #3 in the poll was put on #5, there would be more #5 votes.

I'm always up for a Stella-style beatdown. Too bad that didn't happen in this episode. It would have been interesting to see as Stella and Amentia are so much alike.

I actually missed a few episodes so I'm a bit lost: what is it with the whole pixie/fairy bonding thing, anyways? If it was mentioned in this episode, then I missed it.

From eilonwe's recap of last week's eppy:

LAYLA: "Well, you see, a fairy and her destined pixie bond at first sight. They're like soulmates."

Sure, this particular ep was required for continuity, but could we have done without the entire Downland sequence? Absolutely. That was the most boring subplot I've ever seen in this show. I was seriously bored. Me. And you know how big a fan I am. I finally watched ep 4 and it was like pulling teeth. This one was better than that, but the whole storyline was useless. Yeah, it gave Amore a chance to save the day and for everyone to see how in love Brandon and Stella are. They could have easily done those things in a less boring fashion. I would have rather had more Brandon/Layla interaction. That was way more interesting.

Seriously, if you like every single aspect of something, that's kind of scary. People naturally have likes and dislikes. Even with Jem, my all-time favorite show, there are things I hate. It's NORMAL. We shouldn't have to feel like we're not good enough fans simply because we know how to look at something with a critical eye. I like you and all, but I'm kind of getting tired of justifying my criticisms.

Even READING Darcy's summaries (ep 6's summary is coming after she returns from Florida!) I feel like they've been dragging it out so long.

Meanwhile, let's see what soap-y things they've done on Winx Club.

- Have a "stop the wedding!" ep: Check.
- Identity mix-up: Check (Sky/Brandon).
- Catfight between two girls: Check (Bloom/Diaspro).
- Long, boring talking scenes between couples: Check (ep 4 had a lot of them!).

Hey I new here. Anyway I thought this epp was okay. But those pixies are so darn cute:anime: If they make stuff ones I'm getting one. I really thought it was good for Stella to get serious, but the whole resuce sequence bored me. Did anyone catch the next epp preview?

Also, Sponus (or whatever his name is) was clearly drunk. He wasn't drunk; he was "dehydrated" from crying too much. But to be fair, consuming large amounts of alcohal does get a person to fee dehydrated.

Ok, here are my comments on this ep:

1. WOW! At the ep's beginning, Stella was so ticked off she was all set to give Amentia a pounding! I would've hated to be Amentia at THAT moment!

2. LOL I loved it when Bloom magically made the guard keep hitting himself!:D

3. I was kinda worried about Brandon and the ceremony. Especially, with Amentia's mom walking him down the aisle! She looked creepy!

4. Brandon: "STEEEEEEEELLLAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!" Let's see any other actor top that!:p

5. Stella (to Brandon): "I love you, Snookums." It means that she really does care about him.:(

6. Seems Amore's "Soulmate Blossom" worked pretty well.:)
Amentia (to Brandon): "Don't worry. I'm sure the blonde will take you back.":p
The mother certainly wasn't too upset about it!:D

7. I absolutely loved seeing the 2 newlyweds in the jacuzzi!;) Looks like they do make a fantastic couple!:p

So far, this and last week's eps have been terrific! This ep had a lot of great dialogue! I give this ep 4 stars!:D

Next week's ep should be interesting: my fave fairy Flora meets pixie Chatta!:D What an interesting combination they'll make!:anime:

Okay, okay, finally got around to writing a full review!

- The first act (and the end of third) gave us what I thought was some of the best Stella has ever been. She was so convincingly focused (and off her rocker) about getting Brandon back that she didn't care what lengths she had to go through to get it done! I would've loved to see an angry Stella take Amentia down, but sadly, it didn't happen.
- Recap: Bloom wants to marry at 30, Stella at 25 (in a Vera Wang dress, as apparently a real-life dressmaker either exists in Magix or is now sponsoring the show  ), and Layla doesn't want to marry, period. I guess the dub is really harping the 'don't get married at a very early age' philosophy to the young girls who watch the show. Oh, and Layla probably just shot down her fanboy club. :p
- Guard Worm. Seriously... the foursome (and the pixies) run into it near the end of the second act, and that's it. We don't see or hear if they did anything to it. That's just really strange to me.
- Two good moments in the third act. Amore finding Sponsus and reaching out to him. Great plot-setter. And Stella trying to shake the guard, and then threatened by his sword? I was actually fearing for her life at that point!
- Quote of the Episode: It bites that there haven't been as many standout quotes as last season. There's been bunches at the 'just-below-standout' level, so that's also made it tough in picking one or two lines every week. For Episode 6, I had to go with Amentia's big line in the final act. Not so much for the line itself, but the tone and emotion of it that got me.
"Don't be upset, Brandon. I'm sure the blonde will take you back."
Close runner-up: Bloom's goofy spell, which evoked memories of the spell she used in the ring chase scene of 'Save the First Dance' (Season 1, Episode 3).

7 out of 10 for "My Boyfriend's Wedding."

My hearing might be bad, but I thought she said Vera Wand. Like magic wand? I dunno. I've been to many a loud concert, so I could be deaf.

No, she said Wand. *cranks Ministry to absurd levels*
