It's weird though, about her looks. I think most of it is fake make-up crap that's just put on for show. I've seen her in some interview and she didn't look as good. Not that she looked that bad, it was just weird. I don't know, maybe it's just me.

Anybody catch Christine Agularia (I am sure that's not spelled right, but who cares?) on Saturday Night Live last year. Now, people say that she can sing, but when she sang live on that show, without the help of technology to make her sound better, it was the worst experience I have ever had hearing anybody sing. At least Britney may not be the best singer in the world, but I also think her voice sounds pretty much the same live.

I also think Christine Agularia is more nasty and sleazy than you are all making Britney out to be. She seriously looks anorexic. People laugh at me when I say this, but that girl is headed down the same path as Karen Carpenter, who died of bulemia. It's just one eating disorder for another. That thin and frail look is just nasty anyway. Whenever I see women (and I do mean women, not teen age girls) who have these waist lines thinner than a 14 year old girl, they look like they are diseased or have AIDS or something. It churns my stomach.

Believe it or not, and of course I don't care if you don't!, I had an opportunity once to chat briefly with the pop princess and she really doesn't care about her fans. The entire time she was asking questions about what I thought of her and could give a crap less about anything else. That's sure a good way to ruin anybody's opinion of you, to just want to talk about yourself. How rude!

She's cute, and has some good songs that I can enjoy, but I don't really go for a lot of pop music as a whole anyway. Give me a Tindersticks CD over a Britney CD any day!

Oh, I agree. Christina needs a pork chop. I wanted to stuff a bucket of chicken down her throat after watching the "Lady Marmalade" video. She looks ridiculously thin in it. Childlike, even. It's funny, cause they were going for the more "adult" look, with all the make up and lingerie, but she just looked YOUNGER and emaciated. Like a kid playing dress-up in mommy's clothes.
Oh, and I was watching VH1 the other day ("The 100 Most Shocking Moments of Rock and Roll"), and it said that Karen actually died from GAINING weight! She realized she was too thin, and decided to put on a few pounds. She gained 10 lbs in one week, which caused her to have a heart attack. I realize the cause of her death was that she suffered from anorexia for many years, but I thought this was just an interesting little FYI.
Now we just have to figure out what killed Mama Cass...

on vh1, they have that show "before they were stars" and they showed britney singing on "star search" and i thought she actually sang pretty good. she did the long high notes, but then that was when she was 8 or 9 (estimate). now, she can't hold a note at all.

yes, christina looks really thin now a days. when whe first 'blew up,' i don't think she was that thin; it is only lately where she looks dangerously thin.

Britney's been at it forever, or so it seems, so she just might be able to pull off a longer success record than the others you mentioned. But she would really have to reinvent herself, and I don't know if she would be able to do that very well. Madonna is about the only one I can think of off the top of my head that has been able to pull this off very well.

Ah yes, Britney and Christina can be hard to tell apart, considering their shared fondness for exposing their belly buttons and their lack of talent. And their implants. But it can be done:

Britney: Medium frame, thin but not anorexic, an excess of makeup that kinda makes her look like a skank, that video with the schoolgirl outfit, Pepsi commercial.

Christina: Tiny frame, anorexicly thin, an excess of makeup that really makes her look like a skank (especially the excess of black eyeliner), the Marmalade video, Coke commercial.

And yes, most pop stars of their style don't have careers that stretch longer than three years. Madonna's managed to do it, and so has Janet Jackson, but the two of them did it through talent and evolution. I can't think of any others, and I can't see Britney or Christina doing either.

That's called "too little too late"...or is it too much too late? Sadly, after being accustomed to pumping blood through a miserably undernourished little body, I'd say Carpenter's heart couldn't adjust to the sudden increase in poundage. Tracey Gold also suffered from anorexia, and maybe still does--like alcoholism, I suppose you're never really "cured" of such a malady. Are Music industry is saturated by manufactured pop like herself, where advertising, PR and good looks are what brings in the cash. The whole industry is in decline because people are fianacially backing this sort of constructed music, and then jumping ship once they're rich. There's no soul there. No integrity. In have nothing against her personally, but the fact that we have all spent a two page thread talking about her irks me.

Neither she, or her investers deserve the attention that they receive.

I have neither hatred nor undying love for either really. Although I do have certain opinions about Christina that I'll get to.

But I just think it's weird we compare the two of them, their talents, et all, to Janet Jackson and Madonna. I don't think that measures up. When Madonna was their age, it was a much different time. And nowadays when madonna is her age, she's compared to Britney and Christina who basically just past puberty! I'd rather not encourage that sort of comparison. It's like those ubelievably annoying 10 year old pretend pimps who have beepers and cell phones. Ugh!!!

Britney first. I think she's unbelievably hot, but her damn pop music has begun to get on my nerves, because it's gone down hill. "Baby One More Time" was a very catchy song and video, and it revolutionized her and her music. But nowadays what do we have? Well Christina did a video (to my favorite Christina song) taking place in a dark gothic city setting. Everyone said it sucked, but when Britney did something exactly like it later with her song "Stronger" everyone just ate it up. That bugged me.

And I've always thought she sings like a chipmunk ever since her debut in 99. I just didn't mind it. But now, like I said, it's getting worse. She's still really hot though, but even though that's enough to give her a career, it's not enough to make me like you.

And if comparison is where we're going, I don't think Britney will be the next Madonna. I think she'll be the next Marylin Monroe. Ever since she turned 18 she's all like "oh it's all about celebrating your woman hood" and basically talking like a whore almost.

I hope that Christina rumor about implants isn't true, because I like her. I do think she's strangely thin, but not anorexic. Although I did find it strange that Christina's anorexic-like figure was compared to someone twice her age who was anorexic. Again, I think the comparison is a bit unballanced. I think Christina gets a negative reaction not only from bitter non-fans, but from the business as well. I think she has an amazing voice with an amazing range and therefore amazing tallent, so I hope she rises above all that. Eminem, Fred Durst, her former record label. She's always gotta deal with some kind of sleez.
