View Full Version : Chief Rojas - The Batman's Next Big Enemy?
Hey everyone,
With The Batman recently finding an friend in Commisioner Gordon and a new sidekick in Batgirl, this basically left us without his old sidekick Yin, and her old boss Chief Rojas. The series has also already introduced most of Batman's rouges gallery, including nearly all of the bigger rouges.
We're all aware that Rojas hated The Batman, and he can't be too impressed with his new status as Gotham's hero. Based on this, do you think they could ever have him return, possibly as a full fledged villlain? Would turning Rojas evil work?

How about he has always been evil. That he has been in the pocket of a crime boss. I don't know it could work.

Sounds about right. I hate the Rojas character...it sounds right that he could be a good Batman enemy. I kinda felt he would stay on and kind be a "Batman hater" sorta like "Bullock" was to BTAS. Difference is I and most fans liked Bullock, I can't stand Rojas...he irritates me.

I actually kind of like the idea that Rojas is a proud man of the law and doesn't like seeing a vigilante doing his job. It would be rather cliche for him to become a villain of some sort. I'd rather see The Batman save him/work with him on something. I suppose that's cliche too, but perhaps a little bit less.
i haven't been able to catch most o season two and three so i'm not sure what the status of rojas and yin is right now (and don't want to be spoiled)
but i hope they didn'tjust get rid of them because the gordons moving in ;/

That might work and it'd be different, as I don't think Batman: TAS ever dealt with the idea of a corrupt police officer.
I doubt they would be able to do that though, keep in mind that kids wb made them change fireman;s name in megaman NT warior to torchman, because firemen are not suppose to be bad guys(even if he is not a fireman in any other way aside from the name). So thats not gunna happen unless in a DTV.
Anyway I think they should show some fighting between Rojas and Gordan on the subject of batman.

No. Rojas is the single most annoying and loathesome character on the show and I don't care WHAT the reason, I never want to see him again.

I can't see Rojas as a capable opponent. He's certainly not smart (watch "Riddled" for the best example of this) and he can no longer go after Batman with the GCPD. I can't conceive of a way for Rojas to be really threatening.

While I don't see Rojas becoming a full-fledged villain maybe someone kidnaps Barbara and during that time, it is questioned whether or not Gordon can lead the GCPD and Chief Rojas takes over and tries to track down both Barbara and her kidnapper and The Batman. Or even better, he thinks they're one and the same.

While his name being "Fireman" was the problem it was not changed for that reason.
Now if you used Bomb man as your example I would buy it.

While I'd like to Rojas get some closure on "The Batman", the character was so dull and one-dimensional I'd just as well not see him again. Still, it's odd he and Yin haven't popped up at all this season.
Have a good day.

Another thing, if The Batman were to deal with the idea of Rojas as a corrput cop, they could bring back Rubert Thorne or bring in another character from the comics like Carmine "The Roman" Falcone (Though he too might be under the same embargo as Ra's Al Ghul and Scarecrow  ), "Boss" Salvatore Maroni, Roman Sionis/Black Mask, or Lex Moxon.:)

Honestly, I'd rather not see Black Mask on "The Batman", cause I dont want to see Batgirl tied down and mutilated to death.
Incidentially, now that Gordan and Batgirl are on the scene, I doubt we'll be seeing Rojas or Yin and time in the forseeable future.

I have to take back something I said in my initial post on this threat: Batman: TAS did deal with the idea of a corrput cop. I had forgotten about Gil Mason from the inital Batgirl two-parter of TAS. Sorry.:o
EDIT- Also realized that the Batman: TAS ep POV also dealt with aninvestigation into the possibilty of an officer being corrupt.
