Can it be possible that we add a new feature to editing? That being that when someone makes an edit, it has the same effect if it were a new post? It goes to the top of the list. This doesn't have to be for everything, but at least for Fanfics, maybe an author wants to edit something in and let everyone know (without making a new post itself).

I think it goes without saying that when an edit makes a thread go to the top of the list, when you click on "most recent/unread post" it takes you to the edit, that way no one has to go looking for it. "What the heck did he edit?!" Although, that might be too devilish of you moddies.

So, to sum it all up, can we have edits as new posts, at least at WFWC and Story Board? The edited post doesn't have to be separate, or a brand-new post, as that could get mighty annoying.

I don't know who's in charge of the whole posting thing, but I hope somebody sees this can do something. If this idea is not possible, I'd like to know why. Have a nice edited day!:D

Moderators can bump topics without posting. I don't know how the rules go at Story Board, but if you update a fanfic without making a new post, you can ask one of the mods over there if they can bump the thread. It's entirely up to them if the topic gets bumped or not, though.

That is a very good suggestion. I don't see any problem with it.

(Thinking) Hmm, edits becoming like new posts... intriguing...

I think that would be vary confusing.
People would see a thread bumped and be scratching their heads wondering why, especially if it's something like the 3rd post of 20 that is edited.
And if someone replies after that what order should they read a thread? Post 1,2,4,5...20, 3, 21...

Only the Story Board mods can say what's acceptable bumping, but to me it would be reasonable to reply with a new post to explain how your story has been edited, or reply showing your entire second draft, maybe still explaining the edits.

If the changes are significant enough that you think people should give it another read, then it's worth the new post and pointing out how it's been altered.
