LOTR Up to $27.9 Mill

Peter Jackson's "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Rings" earned $9.7M on Thursday, a 47% drop its second day (which is normal for a film opening on Wednesday). The New Line feature has now taken in $27.9M and will no doubt remain the top film over the weekend.

Not surprised at all. I'm glad to see LOTR doing so good. I'm anticipating a $70 million weekend draw for the movie at the most - which will bring it up to about $100 million in it's first five days of release.
