Not sure how I feel about Bruce Willis being the raccoon.

Oringally Jim Carrey was the Raccoon.

Looks interesting, although Dreamworks still enjoys putting too many famous actors in their movies.
You know there's a crop of VOICE actors that also do a damn good job themselves with this kind of stuff.

I'm never a fan of the OTH comic-strip in the first place, so I might skip this one.
But...think this will be better than the "Committed" animated cartoon? (Both "Committed" and "Over the Hedge" are drawn by the same guy)

The comic strip isn't great, but the movie looks pretty good.
Or it could just be another one of those CGI with Celebrities movies Dreamworks has been cranking out the last 2 years ( save for Madagascar)

Okay, am I the only one here who ended up confusing Over the Hedge for Liberty Meadows (probably because Liberty Meadows was the comic that took over Over the Hedge's spot in the Washington Post a few years ago)?

I think it looks interesting too!
But I do not know the other VA's beside Willis.

I'd say it looks pretty good so far. Of course, we can't judge a movie when we've only seen one trailer. So let's play the waiting game, shall we? :D

I don't like the comic strip, but I'll see the movie becasue it looks like fun.

The animation looks nice, and did they say William Shatner plays one of the characters? If thats true then I wanna see it because anything voiced by Shatner demands to be seen! lol.
I saw the preview for this before Wallace and Gromit (I work at a movie theater). Yeah, there are a disquieting number of big-name VA's, but you can't say the CGI doesn't look sharp. Look at the fur on the animals...I'd say Dreamworks really outdid themselves on this aesthetically...Now let's just hope they don't go all Shark Tale with the story.

Well the plot for this movie sounds better than the Shrek trilogy, Madagascar, and Shark Tales combined.

The animation has a nice nearly-Pixar quality to it, and the presence of Shatner is always a huge plus, but otherwise this looks very generic and dull. As always Dreamworks is sadly short on imagination.
Now if they had actually gotten Carrey then things might be different.
Saw the trailer before W&G yesterday. My sister thought it was hillarious, I felt it was one of those movies where all the funny moments are in the trailer.
At the very least, this one looks like a Dollar Theater movie for me.

People forget that Dreamworks Animation already has paid off the cost of the computing hardware needed to do CGI animation (thanks to the success of the two Shrek movies), so the production cost is not as high as some people think.

Another Animated CGI movie? That's sad. Dreamworks still sees CGI as a profit plus I' am sick of tired studios just hiring celebrities to do animated films? Why? Can't just hire other voice actors instead of celebrities?

Now if they had actually gotten Carrey then things might be different. Carrey has got to lend his voice to an animated movie someday...
I now watch this movie with such trepidation. Why? Because I found Avril Lavigne's a voice in it.

I wonder if this could possibly look more formulaic.

Carrey did some voice, but he was not used for some unknown reason. Willis was quietly placed in the raccon role.

Saw the trailer before Wallace and Gromit.
I may see it for only two reasons:
~Steve Carell plays a squirell
~William Shatner.
I'm glad the animals don't have the actor's faces, though. Shark Tale = teh ugly. >< Still mad that I wasted $3 to see that...
Oh, and to the people who are upset that celebrities are taking roles that veteran VAs could and/ or should be getting- Celebrites sell tickets. I don't think anyone would very much want see a movie if they had trailers saying stuff like "featuring the voices of Kevin Conroy, Greg Ayres, Richard Horvitz," etc. But get some dude who was in Dodgeball or something to record a few lines and you've got a Hollywood blockbuster. I mean, honestly, why did people see House of Wax? To see if it remained faithful to the Vincent Price original? No, they saw it because Paris Hilton was in it.
