The Official Avatar Thread Part 3

I got bored with the Quentin avatar really quick.

Here was my first choice for a Valentine's Day avatar. I'll change it in a few days to fit in with the contest.

It's odd, JH/DG and I both have Peter Parker avatars from the upcomming ASM issue..yet they look like two diffrent people. It's amazing what context will do to a picture.

I just thought I'd share that, while I wait for the reply to a PM...(at least I hope I get a reply..hate being ignored =O )

Nope, it's an avatar I made off of an image posted in..well, one of the ASM#38 posts floating around the comics board...

johnny is a character in "johnny the homicidal maniac", he has a lot of problems. he kills people that piss him off. theres a lot more to it than that but thats the jist of it. youll have to ask karkull why hes in his avatar

Since people for some reason seem to have difficulty with my current avatar, I changed it to another SPIDER-MAN themed avatar. If this keep sup...I may have to change back to my DG one...

Well, I decided to change my avatar since it's almost Valentine's Day. :) This is Angel Daisy, from Ai Tenshi Densetsu Wedding Peach. The picture comes from a manga scan I found at The Peach Tree (http://chiharu.nu/aitenshi) . The scan was in grayscale, and I added the colour to it with Ulead's Photo Impact 7. Daisy, Lily, and Peach are "love angels" (ai tenshi), hence the new title under my name.

This is my avatar for the contest.... maybe... Bird Boy told me where to look for pictures and i looked and picked a bunch and I can't decide on just one.... They're all of Bruce... (except this one and one other one) and they all look ADORABLE!

Anyhoo, here's my "Valentine's Day" avatar... made from one of my favorite screen shots of Samurai Jack. Thank heaven for video cards. :D :o

Dunno if I'll enter it in the contest tho, since I didn't draw this picture. Hmm...but I do have a drawing of one of my Animaniacs-type characters dressed as Samurai Jack... hmmm....

JH suggested that I convert John's sketches into avatars, and I thought it was a great idea...

And, Dr Belch, he had 2 issues in a Marvel run back during the show's run. The first issue is so-so, and the second issue featured an appearance by Spider Man, so it wasn't exactly faithful to the comedy in the show, but they are cool collector's items.

Well here's my new avatar. It's what happens when you start using photoshop, then 5 minutes later realize you have no clue what's going on. So my very first creation is currently undone. Let's just say it's a work in progress.

I just had a sweet idea for an avatar contest: what if we all designed avatars based on the motifs of our fellow board members? Imagine Failure using Maxie Zeus' thunder god motif, Bird Boy cribbing Mad Hatter's motif, or Nightflower using my mutant fish motif (to get me back for using this avatar, :p ). The winner would be based on how well they stayed true to the spirit of the other board member's style. Just a thought...

On another note, I finally found an actual picture of Karkull! I searched just about the whole bloody internet and finally found a small picture of Bruce Timm's tribute to Lovecraft. I'll put it up after this contest runs its course.

I'm loving all of these pretty avatars that people are putting up. Cheers...

LOL! I think that would be hilarious! :D

The only thing I've learned how to do in Photoshop is color gradients. It's really sad actually. So welcome to phase 2 of my color gradience-ness. :)
