Generally I'm not keen on Christmas 'specials', but the onme exception for me is the Due South episode 'Gift of the Wheelman'.

It has all the things that make Due South such a great series - humour, great acting, a great story line, and fabulous use of music. It's also the debut of Benton Sr's ghost - a comedy classic!

I know this really isn't any of the above, but the spoof at the beginning of Scrooged was classic. The Night The Reindeer Died was absolutely hilarious. "Only Lee Majors can save them" was a classic line, and hilarious. Scrooged ain't that bad, either.

For movies, I enjoyed The Muppets' Christmas Carol. Gonzo and the Rat (I can't remember his name, haven't seen the movie in years) were funny as the narrators. The Ghost of Christmas Future scared me the first time I saw him (this was what, five or six years ago?).

For television, I love The West Wing episodes "In Excelsis Deo," "Noel," and "Bartlet for America." Christmas serves as a backdrop for episodes, but they are wonderfully produced with great writing and acting...and they are so sad, especially "Noel."

Was a response removed from here or something? I seem to remember a response that's no longer here, or am I getting goofy?

I just saw the Pinky and the Brain Christmas special, and awwwwwww. Compared to the tripe that's on TV now, the quality was practically gold, I was amazed, really. And they managed to stick in a sweet ending without being too mushy. Awwww!
