I was wondering, I cant find my VHS copy of Batman, so i wanted to get it on DVD. I never had Batman Returns, but I think that might be a good thing. I have Batman Forever, and choke, Batman and Robin, choke, on VHS, and I have no desire to buy the Batman Legacy set for $90 on dvd, but what do u people think about whether or not to buy the 1st, and possibly the 2nd, Batman movies on dvd, or even the whole set, but im not sure to many people want B&R, and im not even sure y i have it.

I wouldn't get them right now. They have no special features, none! And you know eventually WB will release a deluxe version.

Batman Returns is good...I like it alot..

as for buying the DVD's...I'd just rent BR on DVD, see if you like it, then buy it (course, it's only $15..)..

and like The New Batman said, there are new versions coming out. When? Dunno. But if you just want to watch the movie in the mean time, then buy the DVD. for $15, it'll hold you over until the "Deluxe" comes out (which isn't even being made yet. could be another year or so!)

Yeah. You should definitely wait until the deluxe versions come out. The ones out right now have nothing except I think you could watch it in Spanish or with subtitles or something.

WB is considering it, which means if they do, don't count it on it until late 2003 at the earliest. I'd recommend getting the current Batman DVDs if you can find them for cheap. WB lowered the covers to $9.99 SRP, so you should be able to find them for that price or cheaper.

If the MSRP is 9.99 each, how come the Batman Legacy set with the four live action movies is 70.00? Check this outhttp://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00004XMS0/qid=1008983961/sr=2-3/ref=sr_2_79_3/107-4547673-9637307

I have no idea. During my Christmas shopping I checked out some DVDs and found that WB box sets were sometimes way more expensive than buying the individual film. IE:

Batman 1 - 4: $14.99
Batman Legacy: $65

Superman 1 - 4: $16.99
Superman Box Set: $80

Lethal Weapon 1 - 4: $16.99
Lethal Weapon Collection: $120

That last one is no lie! I don't under it. Personally, I can do without the box casing if it's gonna cost me in excess of $10 - 60 dollars. But WB announced the lowering of the cost back in July.

Is it me, or does that make NO sense?? I'd recommend not buying them seperatly. Only three or them are worth buying (well, barely for Forever) so I wouldn't waste that much money. Well...now that I remember, I think the gift set includes a reprint of an old Mr. Freeze story from the 60s. But that wouldn't be worth the extra cash either.

The "Special Editions" Are two years (at the least) away from being made, late 2002 if lucky. I'd recommend pickin gup the first two or three and wait for the "SE" Box set. It'll only be $20 - 30 bucks for the three DVDs which should tide ya over.

I wouldn't recommend buying the current DVDs because they are bare bones and the picture quality is pretty substandard. They will definitely put out special editions someday, though. I'm very surprised they haven't already, very unusual. It's their biggest franchise(or was), though, and it is just a matter of time. Maybe they're waiting on Year One, so that they can cross promote. Makes sense, though the wait is killing me. Whatever they do, let's hope it involves an extended cut of Batman Forever.

An annoying habit in the industry is to release a bare bones version and then a special edition later. What's even better is when they announce both versions on or around the same time(Almost Famous and Dogma spring to mind).
