The X-Men based website X-Fan has revealed that another classic hero will appear in the episode "Operation: Rebirth" alongside Captain America. It looks like Marvel's veteran warhorse Nick Fury will be side by side with Wolverine in the episode.
"Something very dangerous has been stolen from a highly secured government facility, and Agent Nick Fury has strong suspicions that a mutant was the perpetrator," story editor Greg Johnson told X-Fan about the episode. "He also believes that the best way to smoke out this mutant is by using a highly trained, highly skilled tracker, but one who's also a mutant. Wolverine. And the only reason Wolverine even considers helping Fury is because, of the checkered memories of his own past, he does remember quite well how dangerous this stolen object really is
"In our continuing effort to provide variations of mood and content from one story to the next, this is perhaps our riskiest attempt," Johnson added. "But I also think it will be one of the more memorable."
Johnson also added an interesting prediction on the series:
"He also penned another episode coming up that some consider to be one of the best of the season so far," Johnson added. "More on that later. Bob would have done more, but the other slots were already handed out. Provided he's available, Bob will be back for more in the third season, assuming there is one."
