Marvel Animation Age (http://marvel.toonzone.net)'s very own Stu had a nice sit-down with voice actor Kirby Morrow about his work in the acclaimed, yet sadly cancelled, series X-Men: Evolution. Morrow also discusses his other roles, including his work in the popular anime series InuYasha, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny, and many others. Click on the link below!

I have high hopes for Morrow's Rey (Though it should be Rey Za Burrel. Haha. Pun.), and I'm glad he's returning to Atlantis (about time someone from Ocean Group has a recurring role).

Morrow was on SGA? Wow.
Kindda strange though. Morrow was in an episode of Stargate SG-1 as a Jaffa before.
Neat little interview, I love prying into the minds of VA's.

I sure hope that's not Rey's official English spelling, because if it is, ick :ack:

Well, tis good to hear from another voice actor through interview. That and at least it's official dear Mr. Morrow will be voicing our rather stoic, blonde, ZAKU pilot Rey Za Burrel.
I think the name spelling on the interview probably isn't official, just how the one who transcripted the interview probably thought the name was spelled like.

Yeah, I can also say I'm confident he will do a great Rey. Like, near perfect great.
Now we just need CN to pick it up.

Probably just a slight error on TZ or Morrow's part. The three part names are kind of a trend with the blonde Newtypes in CE, so we'll probably end up with Rey Za Barrel/Ray Za Barrel/etc as the spelling.
It doesn't really matter much as long as the pun stays intact.

So his first gig was as Mikey on Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation? Very interesting. I knew he played Mikey in that but I didn't know it was how he joined Westwood.

The first volume is supposedly out before the end of the year but we'll have to wait and see.

I doubt it's gonna make the December guess, more like the early 2006 one they're also throwing around.
I'm glad people seem to be enjoying the interview, feedback is always nice to read, whether interviewing or working on a website *cough* ;)
Kirby was a cool guy to chat to between emails, a real laid back fella who was more than little patient during the various delays this interview suffered. It's always good to interview someone who isn't a complete jerk! :p
As for the interview itself, I'm dissapointed he wasn't allowed to audition for Fantastic Four. I hope he can get a role on the show, I find him to be one of Evo's best voice actors, whether potraying Scott or Cyclops.
Whilst I'm here, big thanks to Bleu Unicorn and Duke! :)

Kirby-sama is a very big role model of mine, and my opinion of him only increases the more I hear of him. He's hilarious, frighteningly skilled, and seems to have a very upstanding, morally correct personality. From my personal opinion, he is THE voice of Cyclops and Miroku (yes, I have watched InuYasha in both languages and I personally feel that as good as Tsujitani is, Kirby-sama makes him look almost like a slacker (IMO)). I've been looking around on Netflix and IMDB lately trying to find all the stuff he's been in I can so I can see more of his work. ^_^
I also think it's really cool that he takes the time to be talked with like this, despite being famous and busy and all. *sets up Kirby-sama banners*

Welcome, dear, glad to help ya out. (Though *cough* technically you creditted the wrong website, but meh.)
Anyhoo, really enjoyed this interview, I always enjoyed Kirby's Cyclops on Evo and, personally, think he's one of the best actors doing the Inuyasha dub...actually I was surprised to hear they haven't finished dubbing Inuyasha yet. I wonder how long it takes for translations and recording, since the series ended a year ago. Hmm.

Sorry about that! You should know by now, whenever I do site work, there's bound to be a mistake on there. It's tradition! :D
Glad you enjoyed the interview. Couldn't have done it without you!

I think he is too. I really like voicers like Richard Ian Cox, David Kaye, and Kelly Sheridan too, but Kirby Morrow is absolutely awesome.

Yeah, I think Cox has really grown into Inuyash and Kaye is just so wonderful to listen to, he's really talented. But Kirby really outshines them all.
