Good, Kinnikuman is back at 39, where he belongs. (Someone in the other topic said that "Ultimate Muscle" was a typo) Instead of... 97.
Now THIS is a good list.

I already posted this second list on the other thread(I think on Page 2). Yeah, it does make more sense then the first.

How the heck does Fist of the North Star rank so high?
I think it's allright, But I don't know anybody who has ever called it a favorite....

It is kind of disappointing that Cowboy Bebop and FLCL were not on this list.

FLCL in'st on the list most likely because it's an OVA. (It's just TV series, right?)

I should probably feel ashamed that I don't recognize the majority of titles on that list.
Wait... Ultimate Muscle is THAT popular?! And Zatch Bell?

I don't either, but Iam not ashamed.
Wait... Ultimate Muscle is THAT popular?!Not "Ultimate Muscle", "Kinnikuman". As posted in the other thread, it's most likely a typo.
Kinnikuman was a shonen manga in the 80s that was later made into an anime. Kinnikuman was sited as being insparation for Naruto and Dr. Slump (Toriyama even had the author's autograph hanging in his room while he was writing it). Quite a few years later, Ramenman, the Chinese Fighter, was given his own spin-off series due to his popularity. In the late 90s, a true sequal to Kinnikuman was made, called Kinnikuman the Second (Ultimate Muscle). The anime was a flop, but the manga is still running.
As another note, random cameos of kinnikuman characters can randomly be found in various manga, including "Shaman King", "Naruto", "Genshiken" and "Dr. Slump", among many others.
In short, it's the grand daddy of a LOT of popular manga and anime (it came out 17 years ago, so a lot of modern Manga-ka read it in their youth). For god-only-knows what reason, most "American anime fans" couldn't care less about it, and are completly oblivious to the fact that this manga is reponsible for a LOT of what they read.
So yeah, it's THAT popular.

I can kind of understand why OVAs wouldnt be on the list. They are kind of one-time miniseries
For god-only-knows what reason, most "American anime fans" couldn't care less about it, and are completly oblivious to the fact that this manga is reponsible for a LOT of what they read. Perhaps because it was resorted to Saturday morning fare instead of a more appropriate time of day?
I like the list better. FMA is good but certainly not number one... and One Piece at #4, can you give me a
w00t?!

The lack of Bebop on this list is like a black hole.

American's love of Bebop far surpasses it's appreciation in Japan. Them's the breaks.
One Piece 4th, heck yeah baby!!!
Conan 6th, woot some more!
It seems it series based. That being noted nearly a 4th of this list has aired on CN in some shape or form. 23 in all. Including all but 1 of the top 6 (Doromon). A sad irony is that 2 of them didn't grab enough of an audience here. It's also sad to note how many of the shows in this list alone and also the full list that were butchered in some way. And being the Toonami Otaku that I am... I also bolded all the ones that aired on Toonami (at least once). Not counting movies (ie, Pokemon).
#1 Mobile Suit Gundam (multiple series)
#2 Dragonball (all 3 series)
#4 One Piece
#5 Lupin the 3rd
#6 Detective Conan
#14 Naruto
#18 Sailor Moon
#20 Fullmetal Alchemist
#22 Neon Genesis Evangelion
#23 Yu Yu Hakusho
#26 Astroboy (only the remake)
#44 Pokemon
#56 Ghost in the Shell - Stand Alone Complex
#59 Inuyasha
#60 Saint Seiya
#61 Hamtaro
#63 Gigantor
#64 Zatch Bell
#66 Rurouni Kenshin
#69 Card Captor Sakura
#84 Cyborg 009 (only the remake)
#85 Tom and Jerry (well that was a given for CN)
#86 Gatchaman
That's right. Toonami alone has aired parts of 14 of Japanese most beloved series. It should come as no surprise that most are fan favorites as well.
