You've seen him in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and he's had his own Manga and toys. Don't you think its time 4Kids made the anime to this Samurai Rabbit? and if they did; who do you think should animate the series? I'd like them to use either Bones or Production I.G, I'd say Gonzo but their animation starts out good then drops as most of the episodes go by. On another note you think it should be Anime or American based Animation?

I think the answer's obvious: American-based and using the exact same art-style as TMNT. That way, 4Kids doesn't have to bomb it with edits and it get away with the same things the Turtles do.
BTW, you sure this should be here in the Anime section? Seems more like something you'd ask in the General section of the forums.

I don't think the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle animation is all that hot it looks boxey. That's why I would perfer like a liquid like animation for Usagi; Like Samurai Champloo to get that fluid movement and style. About 4Kids editting it; I don't think they'll edit anything If 4Kids is incharge like they are in TMNT I believe it will still come out the same way; So edits wouldn't come up in it. And no Usagi is a Manga created by a Japanese Artist even though it was published here Usagi has roots in Japan, so he stays.

Usagi Yojimbo is a comic book. Not a manga. The Usagi Yojimbo franchise was born to life as an english comic. The creator is Japanese (I think), but he lives in Hawaii and the comic is published by Dark Horse Comics. If 4kids were to make it a cartoon, it would be well, a cartoon.

Stan Sakai was born to Japanese immigrants in Hawaii, which makes him 100% "native" American (of Japanese descent). He lives in northern California.
That also makes UY a comic book, not a manga.
I'd love to see an animated UY, if done right. The TMNT version was as close as one could hope for a guest character, but in his own show his design and characterization would have to be a lot more faithful to the source to satisfy the readers of the comic (and its creator).

i thought u were talking about Sailor Moon (Usagi - Her Name):p I'll take that as a joke. But in all seriousness
Usagi Yojimbo is a US made comic abuot an animorphic rabbit samurai, whist this does sound rather cornball from my spart description, it has been successful for nearly a decade now and has had seveal cameos with the TMNT.

Usagi's cameos on the TMNT show just how good it would be for a TV series to be made. However, any decision to make Usagi Yojimbo into a TV series has to be taken up with Stan Sakai.

I know If 4Kids asked him he'll go for it; there was an interview that he did a while back here at Toonzone where he was asked how he felt about Usagi on TV, he answered he loved it and it helps bring more exposure to his creation (It might've been worded different but that's what I remembered).

Really? That's great! I'm glad Stan Sakai also wants to work on getting Usagi on TV. :)

Do you have any Idea how many of these books where published?

Despite its large body count, Usagi Yojimbo is no darker than your average shonen manga--less, even. It's an all-ages comic book, dude; it would fit right in with the rest of the Fox line-up.
On a related topic, Usagi Yojimbo can be seen as the american version of One Piece (or rather, One Piece can be seen as the japanese version of Usagi Yojimbo). Discuss.

Discuss.Never saw that comparison but I think you got something there.; However about the guts thing I was implying that if a JP company got the rights to animate a darker version that they should make it like Samurai X( Animation and realism wise). Usagi Kicks booty but is Sakai still making more books?

Do you have any Idea how many of these books where published? There's a checklist here:
http://www.usagiyojimbo.com/casl/comics.html
(It's way out of date, though. The current run, "Volume III", from DH, is up to issue #84.)
No need to dig through back issue bins unless you're a completist. Fantagraphics has reprinted them all in digests, and they're all in print.
UY the American One Piece? I've only seen brief moments of One Piece, but it strikes me as way more goofy than UY.

Replace cameos with crossovers. Nah, technically the only "official" corssover would probably be the episode where Leo gets teleported to Usagi's world. Amazing how well the two franchises flow together despite being handled by two seperate companies. Kinda like all of the Boktai cameos in the Megaman Battle Network games.:D

I'd like to see an animated Usagi Yojimbo series as well, but while the series is very "bloodless" it's not really all ages. Lots of people die and I was just re-reading a story were a child gets killed. There are crucifixtions and a *lot* of drunken characters.
Such stuff could easily be removed, however, so that it could be broadcast in the US, I think.
