The first adventure title from the former Sam and Max 2 team is out and available to download for $20 at telltalegames.com.

I'm not big on the brevity and some of the voices, but it's a decent first effort from a fledgling independent company. Check it out.

The demo interested me, especially since I'm a fan of both Bone and the other adventure games the creators have done. Not fantastic, but not bad. I'll buy this at some point.

I wonder how Toonzone member Fone Bone will be like after he plays this game? :rolleyes2

I just realized I could use Paypal, so I plopped down 20 clams. A pretty good, albeit short game. I beat it in exactly 2 hours(they advertise 4-6 depending on your experience...most players are beating it in 3) and that was after having trouble or lallygagging in 2-3 areas(2nd chase, bug crossing river, chores). So, too short for the money, but I still enjoyed it. Phoney Bone is hilarious.

Since, they're producing all 9 books(but not necessarily in 9 games), I'd expect the price to come down as more episodes become available. I'd also expect a full story version to come out someday at a significant savings and hopefully on CD in retail outlets.

EDIT: Here's a new interview: http://www.aventurenews.com/2005/oct/10/91/#en

IMO, they should have done three books at a time, since the story is technically structured as a trilogy (three books per act). I guess they're really relying on a niche audience to shell out a lot of cash per hour of content, though.

I'm getting the demo right now and I'll most likely post a short review after playing it.
