So, the new generation is almost here and I want to know what you are planning to buy and why. The race for your dollar is on.

Personally, I'm a loyal Xboxian. Go 360!!

I'm not a completely loyal person to either company but i'm going with Sony PS3, 360 will be underpowered compared to it and so will REV plus PS3 will beable to still play PS1/2 games so that'll be an extra system to play those on so i could have more then one PS1 or PS2 game going at a time.

REV is just to gimmicky and kiddie for me sorry N. I won't support the DS or the REV. I'll get a GBA SP if it lowers in price once the Micro comes out and i'll wait and see if the Cube lowers in price again once the REV comes out.

And i didn't care much for Xbox and 360 doesn't impress me either, and i'm sure once PS3 is out the DOA series will return to it long as its easy to develope for, the creator of DOA likes the powerful system and PS3 will be that.

I'm going to get a Revolution, XBOX 360 only appeals with random rare games, but i think its me being nostalgic... and PS3 might get the best third party support, but what i realized this generation is most third party suck and the good ones are not good enough to make the hefty price worth it, my PS2 mostly gathered dust, if you realize how many "classic" the PS3 has that are exclusive they are not that many...
I just love Nintendo first party games, that alone makes my purchase worth it, Nintendo games are always fun no matter what age you are, no offence but you are playing a video game, it having blood doesn't make it more mature...

calling the revolution gimmicky is a dumb insult, i mean, was the rumble pack and joystick that N64 introduced gimmicky? They are now standard.

Team Ninja knows what the different systems can do and still chose the 360 for DOA4

PS3 and Revoultion look to be the systems that will be taking my money next year. I just can't get too excited about 360 despite it being the first one out of the gate.

Meanwhile, if Sony wants me to hop fence into their camp where the portable market is concerned, they gotta drop that insane price on the PSP.

I'm already sold on the PS3, unless the price tag really is "more than an a household can afford."

The other two I'll be keeping an eye on. It just depends on what exclusives interest me. Who knows, after a price drop or two I'll probably just end up with all three.

Xbox 360 - It's a given since my brother will get the system on his birthday.
PS3 - Big likelihood due to it also having rather large support from everybody.
Revolution - BIG maybe. I enjoy Nintendo and have bought every system sans Virtual Boy and DS since the original NES. But they'll need some concrete games in order to have me sold on it, especially after they revealed the controller.

Revolution, because they're actually doing something new.

Xbox 360 - This is the first next gen console I will purchase and one of the two I will purchase on launch day. The Xbox was a great system, and the 360 is only going expand on that consoles legacy.
PS3 - Interesting console, but I will not purchase this console until it drops in price and has a plethora of games that I want to play. $500 + is a lot of cash to spend on a console that really isn't much more powerful than the Xbox 360.
Revolution - I will buy this sucker on launch day, Nintendo is the only company that truly innovates these days. I love the controller and the possibilites get my mouth watering.

I'm gonna buy the Ps3 on launch day no matter what. The other two? Who knows. I may buy / attempt to find an Xbox 360 before Christmas, I may not. Revolution? Don't care yet.

I'm going to buy all three

and all of them shall be colored white

I have this idea that I can make them like the SC3000 if I have all three stacked a certain way...and then nobody can doubt that I own an evil space computer

Despite favoring Sony this generation, I still got a lot of enjoyment from all three systems. I'll try and get each new one as they come out.

My money will be going into used games from this generation that I missed. I'm really not too optimistic about the new generation of consoles and I don't feel the need to drop $400 to play new games.

If I do end up getting one, it'll probably be the 360 and only after a price drop or two.

I'll wait and see with Sony and how they price the PS3 but I barely got a PS2 last year so I don't plan on owning this upcoming one for a very long time.

I never had an interest in the X Box so that's one giant NO for the 360.

As for the Revolution, I'm definitely going to get one. Not on the release date but probably a few months afterwards.

Knowing me, I'll get the Rev on launch, then see about the PS3....hopefully, I'll be able to afford it by then.

I'm going to start off with Revolution because it is likely to be the most inexpensive and a very creative new take on gaming. I will likely get the other 2 systems at some point, but which one will be first I'm not sure... It's going to have to drop a couple hundred for me and have the best titles. I'm guessing PS3 will be my second pick-up.

I'm certain I won't buy anything for at least a year or two. If, at some time, I DO pick up a console from this next generation it will be the Rev because I like the first party titles that Nintendo puts out. I couldn't care less if a lot of third parties support the rev because, unlike Sony and Microsoft, Nintendo puts out good games themselves. (An opinion I'm sure many would dispute, but hey, we're all entitlted. ;) )

At any rate, by the time I partake of this next generation I'm sure it will already be old news and we'll all be busy with this same nonsense about the NEXT generation.

It is nice to see all the people saying they'll get a Rev on this thread...especially with all the venom being spewed over on the Revolution controller thread.
