All right, kids. First, I want you to read the story about a proposed Birds of Prey TV series here (http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=14961).
Now that you're back, I have a question I would like answered. To wit:
Why can't these nudnicks leave a good idea alone?!?!
Anyone who has read this book for any length of time should have been retching about halfway through that news item. Not only does this treatment completely ignore the true characters, it turns them into incredibly ridiculous parodies of true heroes. Now, I realize that this is just an idea, a mere kernel for a new show. Still, whoever came up with this idea has apparently missed what is so appealing about the book (besides hot females in tight tights), probably because they have not bothered to READ the book.
Once, just ONCE, I would like to see a comic writer be involved in the creation of a TV show that is based upon their book.
Sigh. Am I shouting alone here?
Or will the upcoming Elfquest movie prove me right? (It has both Pinis and Marv Wolfman directly involved in production...)
Worse yet, could it prove me wrong... :confused:
And before anyone else says it, Todd McFarlane's Spawn does not count because Todd McFarlane could not write himself out of a crossword puzzle.
