I really hope they don't change the name of Amazo, just because there are a lot of villians whose names end with "o". I mean yeah there is Amazo, Bizarro, Kanjar Ro, Despero......etc. But who cares? If they're not in the same episode, what difference does it make? Besides, no one seems to mind that most of the members of JL have their gender in their name (BatMAN, SuperMAN, HawkGIRL, Wonder WOMAN, heck you could even argue Martian MANhunter). Anyone agree?

I agree with you. Those characters have classic names that shouldn't be changed.

As long as they have a cool reason why he has a "stupid" name like "Amazo" I don't care. For example, Bizarro is a goofy name, but the reason why he got it in Identity Crisis was priceless!

I'm with you man! Leave the "O" gang the hell alone!

So far in the different animated series we have seen...
Bizarro, who got his name from an off-hand remark made by Mercy Graves.
Sinestro, whose real alien name would appear to be Sinestro. Kinda funny then that the name sounds like it is derived from "sinister."
Starro, the giant alien starfish was never given a name in its only appearance.
Metallo, who took his name from the metal alloy his new skeleton is made from.
Kanjar-Ro, his real alien name ends in an "O", but should he really even be on this list? It's not like his name is Kanjar-Neato.
So there were three "O" villians in Superman and nobody seemed to mind too much. How many can JL get away with (excluding Kanjar-Ro) before it starts to look like we've stumbled into 1962?
Who's left? Although not a villian, we will be seeing Metamorpho. And in the future they might show us Despero, Eclipso, Amazo, and his creator Prof. Ivo.
I think the corniest one to work w/is Amazo. And if you pronounce "Ivo" with a long 'e', it can sound a lot like "evil." The creative crew is already talking about changing Amazo's name and you never know, Ivo may not be his creator in the show. Eclipso might not even show up. But I think Despero is a cool enough name. It doesn't sound too much like "desperado" or anything, and the show won't be exceeding the three "O" standard already set by Superman.

You forgot Lobo.
:p
I think that an Eclipso appearance would be cool.

SINESTRO is Latin for "of or pertaining to the left hand" (the left being long-associated with darkness/evil/inferiority).
And the PPG's have a villain whose name boasts TWO "o"s--MOJO JOJO. ;)

According to the 1991 DC Comics trading cards, the Czarnian word "Lobo" means "he who devours your entrails and thoroughly enjoys it."
I have no idea who came up with that, but maybe Simon Bisley was involved.

Is Sinestro's ring on his left hand? That would be appropriate.

In Paradise Lost, I think that it would be priceless if the Flash busts out laughing when he find's out that the villain's first name is Felix.
