Who's your favorite Superman villan?

Here's for Bud Cort, the Toyman.

Honestly, Darkseid was great. Very scary how far his power went. The end of Legacy comes to mind, with his statement that on Apokalips he is a god. But besides being all scary in that regard, he didn't have much going for him. You could have replaced him with any other made up character and have the same effect.

But Toyman. He scared me. That creepy smiling face that didn't react to anything, his chilling voice... Toyman is far superior. What a great character.

I think this show did a great job turning Superman's rather average rouges gallery into watchable villains, but there's no doubt in my mind that Darkseid is easily the best of the bunch. "If you will not be my knight, you will be my pawn" is one of the coolest quotes in the entire DCU.

I enjoyed others, such as Mr. Mxyzptlk, Lex and Bizarro, and I found myself throughly impressed with Luminous. Looking forward to seeing the Luminous episodes on DVD, it's been years since I've sat down and watched them.

Luthor, easily; he's everything Superman is not.

And while I like a lot of other Superman villains for varying reasons, the only two that come close to being as good a villain as Luthor are Brainiac and Darkseid.

Y'know, they were all pretty good. Then again, I actually like Superman's rogues gallery. A lot of people seem to think they're lame, but I like them. Next time there's a Superman cartoon though, they should remember to include some other characters like Prankster and Silver Banshee.

In terms of Superman: TAS, I'd have to go with Darkseid. He had the best episodes and was way more evil than Luthor was.

If this were a poll about JL/JLU though, I'd go with Luthor all the way.

I'm not a big fan of Superman or his Rogues myself. I find Superman to be boring and bland and its hard to make a great villian when that is what you have to have him feed off of. If I had to pick one though it would be Darkseid or Luthor.

I wouldnt really consider Lobo a 'villian'. He's not exactly a hero, but imo hes not a villian either. kind of inbetween, and if you ask me, he's more of a good guy, especially after his appearence in "Hereafter". peace.

If Braniac had remained as creepy and twisted as he was in "Stolen Memories" then I would have voted for him, but I lost more and more interest in him as a threatening villain every appearance after "Stolen Memories." (He did get a little respect back in Justice League's "Twilight" but still not as much.)


Long story short, I voted Lex. But I would not have packaged him with Mercy.

It should be Lex Luthor or Darkseid...but no. I like STAS's "Toyman" the best. I like him because he is a retard...but a deadly one. He has come closer to killing Supes than anyone (JL episode)...The Darcy doll series was ultimately cool also (Darcy then continued in an episode of Static Shock).

So its Toyman, Lex, and Darkseid.:D

EDIT: Parasite, Livewire and Brainiac were really good too.
