Has anyone else noticed the similarities between the Batman Beyond Gotham and the Los Angeles of Blade Runner? I was just watching the Curse of the Kobra episode again today and the scene where Terry meets the oriental lady at the fish stand reminded me.

I believe that the buildings, lighting, darkness, flying cars, etc are very reminiscent of Blade Runner. Also, an episode last week had a shot where you could see a large sign that read "Deckard's Restaurant". I'm not sure which episode, but I have it recorded.

Coincidence? I doubt it.

By the way, I'm not complaining here. The more similarities, the better.

Well, considering Blade Runner's look was inspired from the movie Heavy Metal, Batman Beyond may owe a tad more to that movie than Blade Runner. And most futuristic cities in movies and on TV owe homage to Blade Runner and Heavy Metal.

Wasn't Heavy Metal and Blade Runner both released in 1982?

I thought Heavy Metal came out in 81, Blade Runner in 82
