Anybody here play any comic based RPG's? My friends and I have been playing a campaign for coming up on sixteen years now, using systems like Marvel Super Heroes, DC Heroes, and Champions. After sixteen years, it goes without saying we have a fairly fleshed out continuity and back story, all of which we were going to turn into a comic book (that idea fell through when I found out I hate drawing comics!).
Anybody else?

Throughout the fifth year, sixth form and a few years after I was in a group of great pals who RPG'd various systems. Star Wars, Star Trek, Cyberpunk, Doctor Who and of course,
Marvel Super Heroes.
We were not intense role players, we had a laugh and you couldn't have a laugh as much as with Marvel.
My friend played Human man - a pig/human with AT AT like tusks who settled down to ignore the GM and build a rubber chicken industry.
Later Human Man VI appeared which was a man waying 20 tonnes who could fly... jump jets of course.
Everything was rolled up fair and square but you could create such bizarre people. Unforgettable game!

I've been playing Champions since 1983! I tried DC Heroes, Marvel Super-Heroes, Villains & Vigilantes, but have found Champions to be the best at simulating what comic book characters can actually do. I have a ton of characters and artwork from those games, but most of them have not yet been scanned and uploaded. Once I get to it, though, I'll be glad to share whatever resources I have.
My username and avatar are my best character from the Champions campaigns too!

Cool! Can't wait to see 'em, Domino (does that mean your avatar is self-drawn..?)
Hey SJJ - Marvel Super Heroes was cool ,wasn't it? One of the things I liked aboput it the most was just how easy it was to pitch our characters against established guys like the Avengers, HYDRA etc... Good days... :D

I wish! My avatar is part of a drawing that Mike Okamoto did for me years ago at the Chicago Comicon, before Wizard assimilated it into its collective. Let me see if I can put the whole thing up.
Okay, it's a little bit too big for display here. If you'd like to see the whole thing, go to:

That's really REALLY nice! What medium did he use? And how long did it take him?

He used airbrush over pencils. I commissioned it on a Friday, and he took it back to his room overnight and gave it back to me first thing Saturday morning. Although now that I notice the date, I think it must have been in Detroit, not Chicago.
