Anyone else watch the first episode last week?
It reminded me a bit of MTV's old show Liquid Television. Happy Tree Friends being to HTF&F what Beavis and Butthead shorts were to Liquid Television. There were only two bookend HTF episodes, which is good since it's best in moderation. Unfortunately the "and friends" toons weren't really too good. With the notable exception of Here Comes Dr. Tran.
"Hickory what!? Smoked what?!!"
That one was freaking hilarious.

"Hickory what!? Smoked what?!!"
Of all the hillarious lines in that short, that was the one that stuck out to you? (HOT DICKINGS!)

When/where is this on? On G4's Barb Wire Biscut block. Forget the actual days each of the shows air, but the block it's self starts at 12:00 AM.
And for the record, Dr. Tran > all.

I still can't believe they got Dr. Tran. I wonder if they'll air the second Dr. Tran short (or have they already?)
Is it basically Spike and Mike stuff along with one or two Happy Tree Friend segments thrown in per episode?
If you haven't been to a live spike and Mike show, you must go! It was probably my favorite evening event at SDCC. The crowd is great, someone had a beach ball that was bounced around before things started, and if they hate something, they'll let you know, and quite loudly. Several shorts were quickly ended after negative responses. It was great to not have to be polite at all for courtesy's sake.

Everytime I see a promo for it I just want to vomit. Especially when I hear that theme song.
It's not becuase of the violence either, I cant stand internet humor anymore

I believe it's on Wenesday night, I forget the exact time. I just tell the DVR to record it and I watch it sometime in the next couple days.
Nothing special about the second episode. They had "Beyond Grandpa" which I had hopes for because it's apparently an earlier effort from the Dr. Tran guys. But it stunk.
I know nothing about a second Dr. Tran short. Didn't know there was one. Did I mention they cut it into three parts? Decent cut points but still annoying.

I found "Petey and Jaydee" more predictable than Happy Tree Friends.

I sent my father a Happy Tree Friends email card a few years ago for Christmas; I didn't know that they were on tv, now.

So you don't misunderstand, there isn't anything new in HTF&F. Same HTF episodes you can find on their site.
Last night did feature the return of Dr. Tran in the Robertito's "commercial". Is that the short you were talking about, MDawg?

I remeber watching "Hard Drinking Lincon" on the net years ago. Nothing like a flash toon disgracing one of america's greatest leaders to get the funny bone working. :p

Yes. That's the second short. It was literally just finished this summer.
Was anything cut out of either short? I can't watch G4 right now (I'm in Savannah), and Dr. Tran isn't exactly a clean short.

It had the most laughter I'd heard for any of the shorts. I wonder what could have been cut though. I know G4 can get away with a lot, but I swear there was male nudity in it or something.
Also, I know a lot of people aren't HTF fans, but it's scary to see how many people loved it at SDCC. Their booth always had a crowd of people watching the shorts. It was funny seeing it on kids day on the last day of the con with parents and their kids watching HTF, yet I don't recall seeing a single parent upset about this, dragging their kid away from the violence.

So the show itself sucks, except for the Happy Tree Freinds shorts, which I already have on DVD. Pointless pretty much.

That Icebox series was awful. And I think it was even made by Simpsons executive producer Mike Reiss.

I thought that maybe they were only ever going to put out and rerun those same 3 episodes, but a new one was on this week.
Other than the two HTF it was mostly the same junk. Another groovy looking but bland Polygon Family toon, Another stupid "extreme" toon, another horrible Hard Drinking Lincoln, and how many of those dang Peter and Jaydee cartoons are there? Although one of the P&Js was the most unique one so far, instead of the alien guy going splat into green goo... he was burned up. Way to push the envelope, guys!
I did like the Piggie and Bunny "What's under there" cartoon. funny. I wouldn't mind seeing more of those.
And there was a tiny Dr. Tran cartoon. It had to be only about a minute long (if that) and most of it was just Tran sitting on a log, cooking a hotdog over a campfire. Good punchline though.
HTF can be funny in moderation, the thing about htf+f is that most of those are flash animations and some of them don't translate on a tv screen as well as others.
