View Full Version : My bizzare Toon Zone Dream

Actually, it was even more bizzare than this, and there was a whole segment where I met a teacher from my college days that I forgot the details to, so I didn't include it, but here is the bulk of what I remember. I have no idea how this will be interpreted!
I had a dream that Toon Zone was a school, and that Brian and Eileen were administrators of this scool and Romey and Gookie were teachers there and that all the current posters lived there in nice dorms, but the school was new and lacking unlike some fanicer schools around, but we all loved it there because we knew Brian and Eileen were dedicated to this school, and were going to make something great out of it. But I felt sad because I would only be there for 4 years and be gone before alot of the changes were made.
I remember being outside and it was green grass and trees and a parking lot (in fact, the set up was alot like the apatrments I live in) and across from our dorms and over the parking lot was this dumpster and a fire hydrant and the fire hydrant was made to look like a cute red cartoon dog.
And Stinky Cat, yes, Stinky Cat was in my dream! And in my dream, Stinky Cat had come up with all kinds of ideas for merchandising for the school to help us make money and I remember we were all looking forward to getting our official Toon Zone t-shirts. I remember one odd thing he had, Sprinkly Cat, which was a sprinkler head made to look like a cat you could put at the end of a hose and the water would come out of the cats head.
All the students went to chapel services on Sunday, and I think we were all Baptists (I have no idea, folks, I am not Baptist myself, don't ask me where this all comes from) and I remember a bunch of us in a lounge like area where there was all this wide open space and windows and chairs and couches and tables and a large kitchen type area. Brian and some others were dilligently making tapes of past sermons in the chapel that people had sent in orders for, and I remember they had all the inserts and lables made for the tapes already, but they had to print them out from the computer first. Brian was making the tapes with a high speed dubber, but was complaining slightly about how tedious the job was.
And I remember that we really didn't have much homework. We listened to tapes of old cartoons, watched old cartoons, went to the movies in the afternoons to watch cartoons, and I even remember this new cartoon show on Fox that everybody else loved but I hated it. I forget the name of it, but I hated it because the audio track was never matching up with the lip movements, and sometimes you'd hear a character talk and the character's lips wouldn't move at all, and it made me mad but everybody else didn't care.
I also recall that in addition to that cartoon, I looked thru a TV Guide that had animated programs on at every hour of the day on every channel.
At the very end of the dream, a couple students came to me an announced that Leonard Cohen was coming to our neighborhood to sing. Loving Leonard Cohen's music, I ran down to the corner with them and the music for "In My Secret Life" was plaing. The woman who sings at the beginning was across the street walking and singing her part as a van pulled up that had Leonard Cohen in it. He got out and statted singing his part. They were shooting a video of his song.
We were all excited and we started to shout that we loved Leonard Cohen from across the street. We went across the street in almost hysterics, falling to our knees in devotion to him, but I felt like God would be mad at us for idol worship, so I was trying to make my praises towards Leonard Cohen less religious like. Leonard was crouched down in a ditch, hoping we would go away, I guess, and all these people were lying prostrate in front of him.
As people declared their devotion and love to him as if they were praying to God, I noticed this one strange cartoon animal like figure saying these almost incoherent prayers and dropping sand, pebbles, and gravel down a hole. Then the strange animal creature (I don't even know what kind of animal it was supposed to be but it was short and had a fat belly, short arms, a long neck, and I couldn't really see its face because he had on some kind of hood) pulled out this bizzare looking egg with strange writing on it. I scream, ARABIC EGG! and go running back to the dorms.
I am the first one back in the dorms and I run upstairs thur a secret door that goes directly to my room. I hope the little animal doesn't see me go, because something bad is going to happen with that egg. I shut the door behind me and wonder if my classmates were lucky enough to escape. And I think I gave the strange animal the slip, that there was no way he could follow me up thru that secret door, and that was the only way to my room. Then I look out thru a window of my room to the hallway, and I see these two ears sticking up that are the animals, and he's running to the door of mine that leads to my hallway. Some how he found an alternate route to my room. He gets inside, and says something in a bizzare language, then holds up the strange egg, which has the foriegn lettering on it and is painted a brownish and yellowish color. He opens the egg and displays two havles with nothing inside. And then there was literally nothing, just a void of white and we were all gone and there was this cartoon type jingle that played "Then there was nothing!"
And I woke up! There was a bit more bizzareness to the dream, but this is the bulk of it I can remember!
PS, does this mean I am on the board too long????

I think this dream was a combination of several things from my day that culminated into one bizzare dream. I think everything in here can be traced to something from today that influenced my dream. Such as the Leonard Cohen part? I found the CD insert for that CD while cleaning my apartment today, for example, so I was thinking of him and that song, and the TV show I hated so much that I felt was inferior was more than likely due to the choice of DVD I watched before I fell asleep, and that was Get A Life Volume 2 that had the absolute crappiest video transfer of any DVD I have ever seen. In the end, everything from my day came together in a strange cacophany of one bizzare dream!

hey, go find a dream interpretation book or find someone to interpret the dream for you! :) wouldn't that be neat! i have two dream interpretation books at home, they're pretty general stuff, but i find it fun to look things up about my dreams to see what happens. ^_^ dang, that is one bizzare dream.

I didn't see everybody. The only people I was able to envision were the four I mentioned. I just saw this place as the Toon Zone College, and there were all these classrooms and stuff, so I suppose everybody was in one room or another. I saw the place from outside, so there was nobody to picture there, and I dreamed of my dorm room in there, and that lounge area I dreamt of wasn't populated very much, just Brian pluggin' away at making those tedious tapes!
So, you all think I need to see a psychiatrist, huh? Nah, I don't think so. If you knew my day, all the imagery of that dream would make sense. I bet we all have some pretty bizzare dreams as our minds go thru all the images we took in for that day, but I happened to remember this one cuz I woke up right after I had it and typed it all out in an email right away.

My goodness, calhoun. I do hope you won't leave us because of this.
Now, you want to ask how many strange dreams I'VE had.......well actually, most of them were about terrorist attacks (which are unfortunately reported very often).....though I still remember one where we all had to move to the sun......and on the sun, there were two suns and no moon, kinda like Tatoine (that place in Star Wars, I don't know how to spell it...)
And, of course, my father remembers a dream he had when he was four or five involving a cartoon tree and pretzel-worms. {shrugs}
*GASP* CALHOUN!!!! THERE'S A LARGE EGG ON YOUR SHOULDER!!! :D

but all I can remember are fragments of it. Things like:
-Running around my friend's old house and finding rebuilt and unpainted rooms
-Communists infiltrating my family reunion like in the movie "Red Dawn"
-Eating at a mall-size Wendy's that also housed an adult bookstore and David Letterman's studio.
-Jumping around a rubber room into piles of whipped cream.
-Sifting through old magazines at my Aunt Janet's house.
Any way to get kylewayne in here to do some dream interpretation?
Oh, and to keep this On-Topic: Calhoun, that was an odd dream. Every poster was in it, eh? What did I look like?
Sincerely,

Again, I didn't actually see alot of people in this dream, just the four I mentioned. I don't know who the two people were who came to me about Leonard Cohen either. I just knew that this building I was in and saw from the outside was a school and the campus.

I'd share my dreams since I'm routinely weirded out by the crap that my mind generates, but I can never remember them. I think it's my consciousness' defense mechanism against my unconsciousness...

I know what you mean, but it's probably a good thing. With the stuff in my head, my dreams would destroy me mentally.

My personal theory on dreams is that you forget them because, if you didn't, your memory would become very confusing. Sometimes, when I've had very vivid dreams, I have had trouble remembering that they were only dreams and not reality. But if the memory fades, then there is less chance of you confusing your dream for something that really happened. I don't know if there's any evidence against or for that idea, mind you, but I think that it is an interesting one.

That dream is the greatest sounding story I have ever heard.
Ive had some really bizzare ones, but my keyboard is wrecked right now because I spilled a whole cup of water on it an hour ago....every time I hit A or S it instead types "SA" so every time I have used either letter in this post I have had to erase the extra acompanying letter!!! Plus, the same thing is happening with "!" and "@" and I lost the use of "w" (had to paste it) and the forward key. This post just took me a half hour to fix...........AAAAAAAAAARRRRGHH!!!!!!!

Yeah, I had keyboard problems for a long time until I finally bothered to go buy a new one, so I sympathize. Everytime I tried to type something I'd get really mad at the keyboard and feel like chucking it out the window. CompUSA has some good deals on keyboards. Their own brand keyboard is only $15 and is pretty decent, so you might want to look into that if there's one near you.
Come back and share your story with us when your keyboard feels better. :)

I have a problem now and then with the keyboard I use at work. Sometimes the program I am using to run customer's transactions will just freeze up and I have to terminate the program and restart it, but lately, when I do that, when I go back into log on, the "e" key automatically opens up Internet Explorer!!! And considering my user name is "STONEKJB", you can see why that would be a problem. The only way to fix it is to reboot the whole damn computer. It's great fun when you have a customer standing there expecting you to be fast.

Found a new keyboard for just a few bucks that works fine :P
........Ok....hmmm.......well.....these arent a billionth as good as the whole story with the arabic egg (i`m saving that in a text file,it`s just so cool :P) but theyve all stuck in my head pretty well:
-I had one dream around a year ago about huge black flies that latched onto people`s backs and made them rabid, and in order to get the flies off of people I had to beat them (the people, not the flies) with metal bats. Then suddenly I was on a really tiny shoe-sized car going down a tremendous slope (which was a blue pathway in outer space like the background from the palace chat I go to) at high speeds trying to thwack people with the bat as I went along.
-In another dream -this one from when I was a toddler, the entire inside of our trailer (we lived in a trailer till I was about 10) was lined with beeping, blinking lights and batteries and hundreds of toys were bouncing around alive, scaring the hell out of me,and when I went and hid under the sheets on my bed, this clown jack-in-the-box that I owned lifted up the sheet, staring directly at me and giggling when the dream ended.
-Around the same time as that I had a dream where I was suddenly completely alone in the house, the outside was eerily grayish black and still and I heard (dont laugh) an electronic robot voice repeating "whap, whaaap, simon says" which absolutely terrified me for no readily apparent reason.
-I also had reccuring dreams as a child in which my thumb or toe suddenly fell off and I begged and cried and pleaded my mother for (dont laugh at this either) some "tape" to fix it and she acted as though I wasnt there at all.In one my finger looked just like a cartoon tree eaten by beavers...chewed all the way around exposing a yellow surface, and it got thinner and thinner until it broke.
-Had a cool one where I was farming these blue things that looked like hairy kangaroos with eyes made of glued-on black felt, and they were called "toze".
-Another one when I was little, where I was trapped in a maze and when I finally reached the end,I was in our kitchen being threatened by two blue goblins with green hats (this was before I ever saw the movie labyrinth,by the way) which I attached with a huge black dragon.Just when I seemed to be winning, though, the dragon "got tired" and shriveled into a tiny rope with a small, curly lizard head that I tried desperately to squeeze more fire breath out of but got only some tiny puffs.I then went outside and my mom was tossing sheets up into the air in the manner one does while making beds (holding one side of the sheet and jerking it up so it spreads out and falls gently onto the bed-I think this was in my dream because one of my earliest memories was someone making the bed like that when I was still lying on it and only a baby, and was for some reason mezmerized by it and the light shining through it)
-In one dream there was a bowl of fruit and an apple in it was oddly jerking back and forth making a strange cartoony sound each time, which (again with this) was somehow extremely horrifying.
....theres a few dozen other ones I find interesting but I cant think of em at the moment.

My goodness....that IS a violent dream. The only recurring dreams I've had are terrorist dreams (scare the heck out of me) and this other dream. There's a theme park in California called Knott's Berry Farm (the Peanuts place), and I had many recurring dreams about actually being in Knott's Berry Farm in the "early days". (the rapids ride's sides were made out of wood...you get the general idea).
Then there was this REALLY violent dream I had which began on a class trip. It was in Gold's Gym, I think (we used to go there a lot for rock climbing). I was walking into a room when I saw a friend of mine in a little pool (that appeared out of nowhere...go fig), drowning. I tried to help him (or her, I don't remember) out, but they drowned before I could do anything. Now, if you think *that* was terrifying...This guy suddenly comes in...he kinda looks like that weird purple-light guy in Escape to Witch Mountain (and this was before I saw the movie...dear G-d, when I DID see the movie...first time I saw the guy, I screamed and locked myself in my room {shrugs}). Anyway, the guy comes in and he's holding a knife. At this point, some weird thing happens and I can suddenly see my neck. To make the long struggling-story short, he eventually slit my throat, and I could SEE the red line.
Yup. That was the first half. Second half's worse. I'm in my house, and I look out our big picture window. I see the same guy drive by. He waves to me, and drives on, obviously going to make a u-turn and come back. So I run (out the back door, of course...even in dreams, I'm not THAT stupid... :p ) and hide behind a tree on my neighbor's yard. Even though we had the only tree on our block. {shrugs again}. Suddenly, I see a guy with a maroon shirt (the guy in the movie had a maroon shirt, remember? Well, so did the scary killer guy. That's another reason I was so freaked out when I saw the movie) coming straight towards me. He isn't the crazy guy, he's some other guy I've never seen before who just happened to be wearing a maroon shirt that day. He walked straight past me, as if he didn't see me. Then I woke up.
I didn't go outside for literally days after that.
There was also another dream I had that a friend of mine's father had died. A few weeks later, I was talking to this friend, and we got onto the subject of dreams. Rather embarassed, I told her about this dream.
What was strange was that she had had a dream about being in a "war" and watching her whole family (which is a lot) die. She had it around the same time as me.
Of course, *none* of these can compare to the dream my sister had where she got lost in a supermarket and was rescued by Mario and Luigi... :D
