I would have to say the Avengers crap of a couple of yrs ago really disappointed me to the max! No Thor! Only guest roles by Ironman & Cap! Antman the leader? Cheesy animation & stupid plots!Anyway I wanna hear your picks for worst team toon of all time. :p

Please allow me to squeeze in my obligatory "anything with an X in it blows chunks" swipe here.
And while Avengers was also pretty lame, the lamest animated superhero team EPISODE of all time was the "SuperFriends" with Zan, Jayna and the hitchhiker. I felt like thumbing a ride just to spite those teenaged dweeboids! :p

The Fantastic Four with that stupid robot, HERBIE.
BTW, this should be on the AniGen board, but I will leave that for the WF mods to take care of! (counting the time before it gets moved!)

My answer is the Avengers. The Superfriends were pretty bad, but at least they have the excuse of crazy parents preventing any violence from being shown at all. As much as I love Marvel Comics, Avengers just plain sucked.

Avengers ofcourse. How can you not have Cap, Thor, and Iron man? Thats like not having Superman,Batman, and Wonder Woman.

Avengers was pretty lame.It was trying to capitalize on Batman Beyond's success and failed.
Another lame superhero team cartoon was WildCATS.It was poorly written, and the theme song just sucked *****.

The one that really, really tried to capitalize on BB was Spider-Man Unlimited. This was the one where Spider-Man traveled to an alternate, futuristic Earth. It was really bad and didn't last very long, which could be why you might not have even heard of it.

Anything involving Marvel characters. Is it me, or do they all just stink. Bad animation, plots, backgrounds, music, voice acting, everything...even worse than JL....;)....I'm kidding, JL doesn't approach this garbage...for me. The first X-Men is near the top of bad. I really can't believe it lasted for as long as it did plus it had great ratings. I always scratch my head when such bad TV is a hit. I think X-Men Evolution is decent, though I haven't kept up with it lately.

The Marvel shows stunk because most of them (if not all of them) from the 90's were done by Saban Entertainment and ended up turning out horribly. I personally don't like "X-Men: Evolution," but the animation done by Film Roman is great.
As many of the others have mentioned, "Avengers" was by-far the worst animated team show.

I guess it's safe to say Saban has the reverse of the Midas touch.Everything it touches turns to crap.

you think X-men evolution better than the old show?! I'm sorry as bad as you think the old show was, evolution is horrid....it scares small children....like me...I used to be a pudgey toddler named Richard I lived in a tugboat and ate canned black eyed peas everynight...oh it was as a happy life as a balckeyed pea tugboater...but it was taken from me abruptly... when...IT came...and then my happy ignorant innocent childhood was shattered by the evil!! the evil that is X-Men evolution!!It campiness is slowly kiling me... you sicken me you twisted and evil vile spawn of...Joel Shaumacher!!! :p

Has anybody said the Defenders yet? That was a lame superhero group comic book. I know they weren't animated, but still, they were so lame there was no way they could get their own animated TV show.

Actually, they have their own comic again. And some incarnations of the team weren't so bad. Hulk, Silver Surfer, Namor and Dr. Strange is a pretty good lineup IMO.

It depended who was writing them. Overall, Steve Englehart's run was the best, but the team's adventures weren't much more imaginative than the best of Roy Thomas' Avengers run or Stan Lee and Jack Kirby's Fantastic Four period.
I also liked Valkyrie. :D

The 80's Hulk episodes were not too bad except he never fought any big time marvel villians except for one episode where he fought Doc Ock. The 1st season of the 90's Hulk show rocked cause he threw down with Ironman,Thor,Sasquatch,Ghostrider, the Thing ,Doc Samson & the Wendigo! However, the 2nd season starring she-hulk sucked! there were no marvel heroes in it except 1 episode with Dr. Strange in it.

Yeah, the Avengers show was bad enough for me to want to pop my eyes out with a spork. SO BAD!
The original X-Men had its good moments, but ultimately, between those good moments, it was so......bland!
X-Men Evolution is GREAT! I don't know what you're talking about. As long as you throw out everything you know about "continuity", XME is an EXCELENT show! ;) :p
The first episode of JL had a really.."new-aged-camp" kinda feel to it. Eck. But, it's gotten better for me.

The Avengers because they had Batman around to see how a successful show is done. Changing the costumes so far from the classic designs was just an awful idea that had to come from a toy company.

I dunno..
Avengers was bad, but I never liked the avengers to begin with.
I liked Fox's X-Men...it wasn't great, mainly cause they rehashed comic story lines from a variety of eras...which doesn't work.
I also liked Spiderman Unlimited..somewhat. I liked his suit. I realize that his cloak was a rip off of Batman's cloak..but @least they rationalized why he didn't use it all the time..
I just like the idea of nanites forming the suit..
ok, it was just me.
I have to say, most of the 70s era superhero shows were crap.
Superfriends was the most famous...but I believe there was also a Spiderman cartoon w/ Iceman & some fireguy...
and a number of other shows...all campy.
Camp is bad..

I gotta disagree with some of you guys, I liked the early 90s X-Men series, the first season was especially good...
anyway, what about the Mortal Kombat cartoon, how terrible was that? the animation was crap!
The Filmation Ghostbusters (with the skinny blonde guy, the fat brunet guy and the gorilla) was pretty poor. Also, I loathed RoboTech like poison.
As for the X-cartoons, I liked the very beginning of Fox's X-Men, then I kinda lost interest. As for XME, Well, I think you can tell from my avatar that I think it rocks. Long live Evolution!

Ugh, I was doing my best to forget Filmation's Ghostbusters.
But, as I've said before, my vote goes to Avengers Beyond.

That show was Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends. I'd count it as a team show, but the "fireguy" was the female Firestar, who actually was introduced to the official MU after being created for the cartoon and was a New Warrior and Avenger from the beginning of Busiek's run. I have one of the episodes on tape, and judging from that, it wasn't too bad. I'd definitely rank it above The Avengers. I loved that Spidey show as a kid.
X-Men was good in the beginning, but by the end it was really, really bad.

Thank God, growing up there was only one team of Ghostbusters I knew of! And I loved them above all else...
..then the internet arrived. I remember my first time online, I went to a search engine, tried to think of something cool to look up, so I wrote in Ghostbusters....wasn't long before I discovered of "Filmation Ghostbusters".......I was scarred for life from that point on......*sigh*....
