For those who have never seen it (or those who want a copy of it), be sure to catch the Fleischer animated movie Hoppity Goes to Town (a/k/a Mr. Bug Goes to Town) this Friday (December 21) at 6:00am on AMC.
I actually liked "Hoppity" much more than the Fleischer Gulliver's Travels. There are some great scenes, and Bagley Beetle's Abbott and Costello-type henchmen are pretty funny. Check it out.

Hopefully, VCR's will be rolling, or I'll be awake early enough. Probably the latter, I got that cartoon on tape. Does this version have original opening titles?

God, I haven't seen "Hoppitty Goes To Town" since I was maybe 12 or 13! I'm glad I stocked up on blank videos!!

I taped it off AMC during the summer, and it did not have the original titles. The opening title said Hoppity Goes to Town and "An NTA Release". However, it *did* have the "A Paramount Picture" closing title.

And, thanks to the new "relevant" AMC, at no extra charge, commercials and a constant logo.
No doubt about it, I enjoy "Hoppity" much more than Gulliver. Wonderful cartoony characters and a gorgeous color scheme.

I somehow managed to miss this one when it aired in the past, so this is great news. I've never seen this one, though I have seen Gulliver's Travels. I'll have to make sure I tape this. Lucky for me, I'm getting out for winter break tomorrow and get to go home where I can get AMC. Thanks Jon! :bosko:

Just hope anybody doesn't mind AMC cutting into the movie with 3 minutes filled with commericals and possible edits to make room for the commericals. That's a new thing AMC now does to it's film library and that's what AMC did to "King Kong" a couple of months ago.
