Battle Chasers

I was checking the "graphic Novel" version out, at the shop today. It looks really good(at least the pictures, they don't let us read comics there. Basically, if you spend over 30 seconds on a page, they kick you out..grrr...). anyway, can anyone tell me how it is? I'm thinkin' of buying it after the Holidays..

From what I've heard about Battlechasers, it has nice art, but is lacking in writing. Also, new issues are pretty much nonexistant, so I wouldn't bother getting attached.

Glad you like what you saw on TDKR, tho. Great book, worth every penny.

Battlechasers was created by Joe Madeira at the height of his popularity. He'd just come off the back of a very succesful run as X-Men penciller. Madeira, J. Scott Cambell, and Humberto Ramos then went off to form the Image inprint Cliffhanger, amidst much hoo-haa and 'fan-boy' anticipation. The intial isseus of Battle Chasers, Danger Girl, and Crimson (their rspective self created titles) went weel enough, but then production of BC and DG slowed to a snail's pace, with only Crimson coming out every month.

Battle Chasers, has, I think, done a lot of damage to Madeira's career - I genuinely think all it's done for him is prove he can't hack a regular title (I seem to remember he had to do three months on, one month off on X-Men as well). Sure, the art looks great, but comics need to come out regularly - which is were old pro's like Perez will win out every time...
